There's some screwups, but I'll get there. :)

If you come across anything wonky, please let me know here.

The consequences would be fun.

If someone is IP banned, efforts to re-register should be met with an apparently valid registration screen, but when they log in with their new accounts, all they get is a new registration screen.

The frontpage would be a picture of a troll hung upside down, captioned, "Learn some manners".

All requests for new features would be met with Si non confectus, non reficiat.

On the principle of "One Man, One Vote", all polls would be decided by his vote alone.

Although in fairness, it's already the case that everyone who hates him probably hates most of the other league fans more. He wouldn't really have to engineer that.

Celebrating me birthday and anniversary at the moment, I'll get to it over the weekend lads.

Well. Now we know. Would have thought we were more important than that, but no...

I'd put in a disappointed simley, but I don't even know what these new fangled things mean. See what your selfishness has done to me?

(Enjoy!)

When I'm on the Home page and try to access some of the articles it will not allow me even though I am logged in. Any solutions?

dahamsta

Are you getting an error?

dong
06/08/2010, 2:17 PM
Yea, the message comes up that I cannot access this page and could be due to the fact I have not logged in or am not authorised to view the page. Something along those lines Adam.

Ive the same problem

dahamsta
08/08/2010, 1:56 PM
I can't see any obvious problem. Is it some of the articles or all? A particular category or section maybe, or by a particular author?

Can other people have a look, see if you run into the same problem?

Thanks,
adam

Of the ones on the home page at the moment, the only one I can open is RTE: Foster lashes out at 'callous' Fenn. The other three are RTE match previews.

dahamsta
08/08/2010, 3:09 PM
That's got it, the new Club News and Match Previews sections weren't published. I didn't actually know I had to publish them!

Can ye try again now please?

Schumi

No change. I Ctrl+F5ed them in case it was a cache issue but that didn't help.

Incidentally, this issue (http://foot.ie/threads/138488-vBCms-Comments) is still happening too.

Yeah, I get that too, though they're coming up as Article Comments instead now.

I just changed the name of the forum. :) I'm not sure there's a way around this one tbh, if I make them invisible then they'll disappear off the front page too.

I don't understand the distinction between "RTE: Trap sits out training due to food poisoning" from the Feeds forum and "Article: RTE: Mervue United v Sporting Fingal news". Why not put them all in the Feeds forum?

dahamsta
10/08/2010, 11:53 AM
The articles are pulled into the Feeds forum via RSS, and I pick interesting stories and push them into the content management system (and from there they get pushed to Twitter (http://twitter.com/footdot.ie) and Facebook (http://facebook.com/footdotie)). The problem is that comments for CMS items are stored in the Comments forum, which is where you're seeing the duplication. I'm trying to figure out a way around it, but it's really just a bad implementation, one they're supposed to be working on.
