xtreme rebel,i pressume that CT was sent off on d 90th minute for givin away a penno?not the 80th......does anybody else realise that we have thrown away soooooo many points this year by giving teams goals they dont even work for?....3 pennos and 3 o.g's,no team this year has beaten us or gotten a point from a game that we havnt gifted them a goal in.....its so annoying that we are just throwin away games through carelessness

What for and what for????

edit: Text from Ruairi. Colin sent off for 2 bookables   (thought a player of his experience would have known better), and a "controversial 90th min spotter!

Fair comment from Rebel Norrie above. Too many penos, too many ogs.

Hopefully we can get all this bad luck out of the way sooner rather than later.

How do you know we threw the game away?
Did you see that joke McKeon last night and the penalty he gave in the 93rd minute?
Lets wait and see if it really was a penalty.

Lets wait and see if it really was a penalty.

got a txt from northofthelee whos up there, they dont know what the penno was for, waitin to ask one of the players after the game.......but in my eyes there has to be some kind of infringement for a penno to be given and i konw at times there can be bad calls by refs BUT 3 pennos in 7 agmes is a bit more than bad luck, its bad defending and lack of concentration.

Another txt, apparently the derry fans say it was a BLATANT handball  .

'A pretty good performance.....we had very few chances'. Spose we never do in the Brandywell.

How frustrating is that like??? What a nice journey they all have ahead of them now eh!

What a poor game at the Brandywell tonite!

Both Derry and Cork were dire, and on that performance neither will challenge for honours this season.

Up until Doyle's goal, I can't remember a clear cut chance for either team. In fact the only "save" that I remember Devine having to make was when a Cork defender knocked a ball past him, and he had to scurry back to stop an o.g.. Delaney and Hutton were dealing comfortably with the Cork front line, whilst Bennett and Murray weren't troubled much by the Derry attack - as both sides lacked any real invention.

O'Brien was send off following two needless bookings - he was booked for giving the linesman some grief in the first half, and then for stupidly throwing the ball away as Derry were about to take a throw-in, ten minutes from the end. I'd say Dolan will be furious with him!

Derry only started to play after going 1-0 down, and with 10 men, Cork began to look a bit nervous at the back.

Dykes changed the formation around in search of the equaliser, pushing Sean Hargan up front and adding Michael Holt to the attack.

The penalty came after a sustained period of Derry pressure, and although I didn't see the handball myself, there didn't seem to be too many protests from the Cork players.

Cork's time wasting tactics in the final 10 minutes almost back-fired on them, with the referee playing 5 minutes of injury time. At that stage Derry were well on top, and could easily have stolen all three points.

Anyway a good point for Cork and not a bad travelling support.

By the way - the Cork City right-back (Greg O'Halloran?) was very suspect tonight. Not bad going forward, but hopeless at defending.

Just as well as could never accuse Derry City of that.

didn't see the penalty, I was too far away- all I saw was a hand in the air and then the whistle went. Didn't see the ball make contact, but the derry lads were much nearer and said it was blatant, so I'll take their word for it. City's main problem was that they defended too deep late on. When they did clear the ball they only had fenn up front and he was very lazy- didn't chase enough at all. As for Colin's sending off- if I was Dolan i'd throttle him. It was total stupidity. The first booking was for having a go at the linesman (I think) and the second: he was pushed in the back and the ball went out. he wanted a free bu the linesman (who was about 2 foot away) signalled a throw. Colin threw the ball away and shouted something along the lines of "what the **** was that" in the linesmans face. It should have been a free and I could understand his anger, but an experienced player should have more sense- especially when he's been booked already. This sending off an the 3 penalties conceded are a worry- we need to be more disciplined.

I agree that our dicipline could be better but when you see the downright thuggery that the likes of Shels and Waterford are getting away with it makes you wonder.
We are getting the sh!t kicked out of us in every game but as soon as our players try and stand up to it the referees punish us. It's a disgrace, I wonder are all the officals on Ollie Byrne's payroll or what.
