...that was tonight. We played our best football of the season in the first half and should have been three clear at half time. UCD played us off the pitch in the second half without ever looking like they were going to score until they did. You'd have to say that a frustrating draw was the outcome then until Padraig popped up with a wonderful and very brave winner.
I expect Danny Ventre to play in goals on Friday night as not even Cook could change the back four from tonight.
Early doors, maybe, but has another legend arrived in the shape of Jim Lauchlan ?
Oh and BTW, UCD are a credit to the league with the way they play their football away from home. Shamrock Homeless and Pats take note.

The one thing this forum is missing is reports back from fans who made the game, so thanks avvenalaf for yours and sorry that you seem to have got caught up in the massive traffic coming from the match as you did not get to post till AM. Seriously more feed back on games would be appreciated generally and good to see Jim Lauchlan named in the team of the week recently and it appears he did well last night. The match against Bohs on Friday is a big one for us and hope that they are a bit more leg weary than ourselves but I know they have a big squad. Wonder how the Rovers fans compare Raff and Amond?

Rovers were brilliant in first half but how we need a striker to take the huge amount of chances we had. Padraig Ammond can not do it on his own. Ndo needs to take up a more forward role. Why does he take the corners when his height is needed in the box?. Laughlan looks a real find!. If that back 4 changes for Friday night, questions will have to be asked of Cook. Proper defensive set up, which is now available to us and we could be near the top soon.

Very good piece indeed. Makes a change from the usually dreary and truncated fare in the media. Must compliment the author on that.

N'do is poor in the air, its the only chink in his armour. Plus his delivery from set pieces is second to none. Would agree that we need cover for Amond but I wouldn't change the formation as it is a winning one.
