Draw a fair result in windy and showery Drom tonight in which Wexford huffed and puffed but didn't create enough against a Devon side who came more into it as the match wore on. With Breener gone (?) and Shane D. suspended, Wexford started Packie, Wolfie, Anto, Aidan, Gareth, Kevin, Shane S., Jimmy, Dean and Gary and Danny up front. Wexford started the brighter and dominated Devon with most of the early period being played in the Devon half but the only real chance was a shot from Gary which went just over. Game then became more even and uneventful with Devon having one chance when Youths lost the ball in defence but the Devon forward shot wide when in a reasonable position. Wexford played with the wind in that half and were guilty of hitting it too long on a fairly short pitch. Nil-nil at half-time.

Second-half began with more of the same and Devon then came more into the match and created a one-on-one from the left side but Packie had his angles right and pushed the shot away for a corner. Anto had a free header from a Youths corner and might have done better but Youths chances were scarce enough with offside being a regular problem. Youths looked better when Jimmy switched wide and Hopper Kenny came into the middle for Dean who went off. Best chance of the game went to Devon late on when a break and a cross from the left found the Devon forward in the clear but slightly stretching and Packie stayed up to parry the shot which was on target. Late subs for Youths were Muzzi and, new to me, Ben (?) Ryan. Nil-nil at the end with Packie, Jimmy and Gary doing well for the Youths with Packie outstanding, especially on crosses.
