Great to see Steve Cotterill get the Portsmouth job. After winning League 2 with Notts Co. I have no doubt he'll rise to the challenge at pompey like did everywhere else he's been. Think he was one of the best managers we've ever had at the Showgies. Just a pity we did'nt have him for another season.

there was a good clip of Steve on RTE last nite when he was Sligo Rovers manager. What game was that and was he with ye for long?

Did'nt see the clip on Rte so can't say what game it was. He took over from Lawrie Sanchez in I think '95. That season we finished third in Prem div and qualified for the Toto cup. We were beaten on pens in the league cup final by Shels. He also gave Padraig Moran another break as Sanchez would only play Pogs when had too. Unfortunately Cotterill moved back to Cheltenham Town after just one season.
