Has anyone been to Kavala in Northern Greece? I'm asking as I've been offered a job there and have never been to Greece before - to my undying shame as I studied Classical Greek language and Classical Civilizations in Uni. A former colleague of mine is working now in Athens and he says it's a real provincial outpost. If anyone has any info I'd really appreciate it. Google and Wikipedia can only provide so much and I'm trying to figure if it's worth even going over to see the place.
