Don't worry as seen on Facebook, with Raymond in charge, that shower will implode anyway.....

I thought it was only one of them that handled the ball rather than them collectively ? Also the one who did is unlikely to start tonight

This the guy who imploded them all the way to the final last time?

I'm going to take a pass on appearing commendable and judicious by wishing France all the very worst.

If you can find one French fan who thinks he'd repeat the act I'd be amazed......
You can only have so much luck.

Sorry, i'll just wish Henry the worst, and hope France win the world cup... happy now?

Have a look at their celebrations after the goal. And read up on what you would doubtless just deem 'controversy', after the game.
Not the whole team, but enough.

In a way I'd still like France to do well as it'd reflect better on us. If France and Italy have bad world cups it'd show that a lot of our new-found confidence may be misplaced.

You can also only have so much Zidane.

While my head agrees, my heart hopes France are humiliated and italy do ok... i'd like to see Spain win, or maybe Argentina... (soft spot for them and that nutter)

Going by the first match, looks like we'd have had no-one to fear in the group, so as was said it'll be a marker as to how we'd have fared. I usually supported France before when we didn't qualify, about the only thing that can be said in their favour is they'd give England a stiffer test in the knock-outs.

Uruguay have been shocking. No composure at all, up to and including the sending off.

Decent result for Uruguay. They were very panicky at times though.

The handball claim. :D

He is a cheating so and so and I hope that they finish bottom of their group, not just because of the handball but because they are not great to watch and Mexico, South Africa and even Uruguay offer more in terms of fluid play (Mexico) excitement / unpredictability (South Africa) and attacking potentcy (if supplied) (Uruguay).

The French seem to be at war with themselves a la the Dutch in the mid 1990s, they also look like a team that think they can just show up and go far but with no Zizou I dont think it can happen...

Can't believe people are still going on about the handball, long forgotten for me anyways, there's no guarantee we'd have even won that match, if we took our chances we'd be through

You'd better get over it then. They'll still be talking about this in 50 years time. So what?

I'd like to "grow up" and put the defeat behind me, and, up until I watched the game I thought I'd done so. However, seeing the French team brought back the memories of last November and the anger came back.

France v Uruguay was the worst game I've been at since I watched Athlone Town draw 0-0 with Home farm in a cup game aout 15 years ago, dreadful stuff.

Hi, I am french and I am ashamed since the elimination of Ireland by a cheating team.
It will do no good for Ireland but I really wish this french team will be eliminated soon. The match against Uruguay was a good boring start ! I usually support my national team but not this time.
Long life Ireland.

Anyone else find the people who have been constantly harping on for the past week about being "so over" Henry-gate a tad, well, obsessed? If you're over it, please stop telling the rest of us who want to wallow in self-pity and bitterness for a while longer. We're football fans after all.

It's the World Cup of monotonous drones ain't it? ;)

Personally, I've reached the last stage of giving a s**t, which I would label 'vindictiveness'. I hope France fail and luck deserts them.

Come July, when all teams are back on level footing and looking toward 2012, I'll be 'over it' but will feel no obligation to tell others to follow suit at every available opportunity.

The media-driven and FAI-driven bitchfest about Henry’s cheating is frankly embarrassing. He cheated and got away with it. If Robbie Keane had done it for us I’d be delighted. Duff dived for a pen against Spain in 2002 and we got over it quick enough. We are as bad as the English still going on about the Hand of God even after Owen evened up the scores with his dive in 2002.

That said… I hate Henry for cheating us and for being a two-faced ***** who cultivated a holier-than-thou attitude thru his career. I’d like to see France do badly, but then I’d always like to see France do badly.
