Foundation calls for hearts test
The Irish Health Foundation (IHF) have called for sportsmen to undergo heart tests in a bid to prevent a repeat of the recent premature deaths of three leading Irish sportsmen, rugby player John McCall, Tyrone gaelic football captain Cormac McAnallen and Antrim hurler Frankie McMullan.
McMullan passed away suddenly at the age of 29 on Friday, just over a fortnight after he had played for his club Dunloy in a fourth All-Ireland club hurling championship final.
