What the hell is wrong with our country!!

The FAI could not give a fiddlers about our pitches ,it has nothing to do with what time of year we play,we have some of the best maintained golf courses in the world,we produce groundsmen and green keepers of the highest standard who have to emigrate to find work,incorperating the maintenance of our pitches into the educational curriculum of groundsmen and green keepers could easily be done ,but we live in a country where no one gives a xxxx unless theres a a few bob to be made.

Can no one take any responsibility for themselves anymore?Never said it was for starters ,weather they should care about it or not is up for discussion aswell ,all I did was suggest that we could have great pitches if the issue was adressed in a different manner ,but the way you have addressed my post is typical of whats wrong in this country,leaving it up to everyone to take care of their own has resulted in what we have which is a lot worse than what we could have if anyone gave a xxxx or cared to think outside the box,the FAI could assist clubs and football in this country by advocating an educational partnership between clubs and the people who teach the practice of ground maintenence to the benefit of all in my opinion, only some clubs would need to avail of it anyway and the worst pitches .just a thought but **** it enjoy shooting it down its what you do best and wouldnt expect you to have explored the discussion in any other manner.

I'll say it again, what has it got to do with them? There's 20 LOI pitches. Clubs need to ake responsibility in ensuring they are in as good a condition as possible. They shouldn't need the FAI to force them to do anything. It shouldn't need incentives for clubs to spend money on getting their pitch in order (particularly when they all pay thousands a wekk on wages)

By specifically paying for the upkeep of the pitch, either through direct payment to groundskeeper, or through the insertion of clauses in rental contracts that ensure payment? I think clubs should make this a priority, its obvious they don't.

Im doing nothing more than exploring a cheap solution to an obvios problem,I also support as much educational partnerships within sport as possible,If Pats were in GUFC s unfortunite situation of playing on a pitch owned by a regional FA that obviosly couldnt give a toss about its condition or how many games get played on it you might be more openminded on the idea of the pitch being re turfed and maintained to a high spec by young people who are actually learning groundsmanship as a carere.Im not advocating clubs be allowed shirk responsibilty for the upkeep of their infrastructure at all .
