Another sending off for Wexford made it easy for their opponents tonight but better performance from the Youths than in previous matches. With Anto missing, Wexford began in a changed format with Packie, Wolfie, Breener, Patsy, Dean, John Byrne, Jimmy, Shane, Kevin and Danny and Gary up front. Wexford started brightly and with Breener and Patsy dominant in the air, most of the first fifteen was played in the Limerick half and good chance fell to Breener who headed over from a corner while a quick free from Shane from forty yards went just over. However, first real attack from Limerick got a red for Patsy when he impeded the Limerick attacker running on to a through ball. As against Derry, matters got worse when the resulting free kick broke to a Limerick attacker who finished to the roof of the net. Packie then pulled off a few good saves to keep Wexford in it whilst Wexford played very directly to either Danny or Gary up front. Nil-one at half-time.

Good effort from volley from Limerick started second half but game died a bit thereafter with Limerick dominating possession and Wexford only able to get couple of efforts on target. Kevin Rowe had good stint wide left until he tired while Jimmy K. looked more comfortable in midfield as did Wolfie at right back. Second goal from Limerick ten minutes from time settled match when low cross from Limerick attacker inside box was finished about eight yards out with Packie having no chance. Packie then had to scramble to keep long-range effort out of goal just at the end. Best for Wexford were Packie, Breener and Shane but good effort from everyone. Gary worked hard up front with Danny but badly needs goal to settle down. Subs who came on were Shane Sinnott and Martin Kehoe. With Salthill points gone, win against Athlone next up is a must.

red cards are ruining our season, that's our 3rd straight red now at least. Hopefully the lads can turn it around in a week.

the sending off was harsh last night both pasty and the limerick attacker where pulling out of each other and decision could have gone either way and in fact minutes earlier had gone the way wexford but way to many sending offs this season and needs to dealt with.
better all round performance though last night hopefully an increase in crowd a bit of atmosphere and 3 points against Athlone next week.

Don't think so at all you cant just drag a striker down when he gets by you.
Minutes earlier it was a clear pull by our striker the second time our striker had got past your defender and was fouled by the last man had to go.

pasty was not the last man breen was there as well in a line and also limerick player had as much of pasty shirt as pasty had of his. i do honestly believe it was harsh and the only undeserved red card we have gotten this season to date
