The London branch of the Republic of Ireland Soccer Supporters Club (RISSC)football team have completed a remarkable turn around from poor early season form by taking 21 points from a possible 27.............playing in Division 1 of the APFSCIL league

The run began with a double header v Man City which resulted in a 2-1 win with goals scored by Liam Kelly and Noel Dunning, the 2nd game was won 2-1 by Man City with Noel Dunning scoring for the boys in Green, next came Exeter City who even they couldn't believe winning 7-2, Irish goals scored by Liam Kelly and Mick Coffey.

Middlesbrough were next to visit and were beaten 2-1 in the first game with the Irish fighting back in the 2nd half with goals from Liam Kelly and Noel Dunning, the 2nd game was a lot easier resulting in a 3-0 win, Paddy McGee our oldest appearance maker and extending the oldest goal scorer for the London Irish has still got it by scoring the first with a diving header, Kevin Logan made it 2-0 just after half time and "Goal Machine" Liam Kelly came of the bench to make it 3-0.

Next came Sheff Weds with the Irish winning the first game 3-0 with Karl McGee scoring twice and Noel Dunning getting the 3rd

Sheff Weds goalie kept the score down to 2-0 in the 2nd game played in wind rain and hailstones, Mick Coffey got the first Kevin Logan scoring with a superb shot cutting in from the right and driving it over the keeper to give the Irish the points.

Aberdeen challanging for the title were beaten 1-0 in the first game with a goal from Paddy McGee(still the oldest scorer for the boys in green, increasing it all the time) nicely beating the keeper one on one. In the 2nd game Aberdeen took an early lead but the Irish fought back in the 2nd half with his 1st goal for the boys in Green Tim Nagle making it 1-1, this was soon follwed by a lovely strike from Mick Coffey cutting in from the left, and Karl McGee made it 3-1 with a header. Liam Kelly and Paul Franklin also came close in increasing the score, if we had this sort of form before Christmas we would be challanging for the title. Roll on next season !!!

Would like to thank Sean O'Halloran (club captain) , and Darren Nolan (in goal for one game) Phil O'Dwyer, centre halves Jon Carey and Donnie Mullin(team captain) keep going boys !!! Adrian Ward, Paddy McGee, Karl McGee (defence and midfield and occassional forward), D.Slattery(SLATTS) and Timmy Nagle holding it together in central midfield, Kevin Logan and Mick Coffey on the right and left of midfield making those positions their own and both contributing and scoring in the recent successes, up front "Goal Machine" Liam Kelly and Noel Dunning for performances over the last month
