Seeing as we're moving more towards naming random foreigners (I think there's a general consensus on Kalonas, Livingstone and Ndo when he could be arsed), I'll mention Alban Hysa. I remember him in CM01/02 playing for Dublin City and being of Kosovan/Albanian nationality (and always started the game retired from international football). Born in Tirane apparently (http://www.playerhistory.com/Default.aspx?page=player_details&playerID=172956), and playing for Mount Merrion till a couple of years ago. Anyone know how he came to be here?
Is it me, or are there an awful lot of closet UCD fans about the place?
Well they have to be hiding somewhere

We have had a few decent non British players down through the years.
Ed McIllvenny played for USA in the 1950 World Cup and captained the US in that famous 1-0 win over England in Belo Horizonte. Played for a few seasons with the Blues.
Piotr Suski, midfielder capped 13 times for Poland, member of 1973 League winning side. Signed from LKS Lodz.
Scott Garlich (US) one of the best keepers we ever had, signed by Johnny Matthews in 1994 and ended up staying for 2 seasons. Went back to the US in summer of 1996 and went on to play for DC United, Colorado Rapids and Tampa Bay Mutiny.
Other honourable mentions go to Robert Markovac (YUG) 1993-94, Trond Debes (NOR) 1996-97, Gus di Lella (ARG) 2002, Rodney Jack (SVG) 2005 and Jose Quitongo (POR & ANG) 1994-95 & 2004. Legend.
Remember Robert Markovac alright, as far as I recall he's Croatian, but based in (and probably born in) Australia. That's where he came to us from anyway, there's a mention of him on the North Geelong Warriors wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Geelong_Warriors).
Another one was Haakon Johannson (subsequently Winther), also from Norway.
Dimech (dee-meck) Still playing and with more tatoos, and basically has his position for life. Total gobdaw, a plastic hardman!
Played for Valetta against Pats in europe last year at centre half (alongside Jordi Cruyff). Looked about 5 stone overweight witha shocking mohawk haircut
