O’Flynn helps Cork to early summit

Cork City 3-1 Dublin City
John O’Flynn, whose participation in this game had been in doubt until a convincing performance in a friendly against Kilkenny City last week, opened the scoring as Cork City stole to the top of the embryonic Premier Division table after Friday night’s opening matches.

Former Irish under-21 star O’Flynn has battled back to full fitness after a serious knee injury, and took less than quarter of an hour to fire his opening salvo of a season in which Cork are expected by many to severely test the recent domination of Shelbourne and Bohemians.
