Anyone know how easy it would be to make a simple looking blog like this (http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=1997853166652622660) to a fancy looking one like this (http://www.edspicks.com/)?

The first link doesn't work, it's looking for a login. I think you linked to a create a post page. The second link doesn't look too complicated. I haven't used blogspot but getting something like that with wordpress shouldn't be too hard.

Its very easy tbh. Just pick you format and insert whatever "functions" you like. If you know a small bit of html you can change the individual posts

Here (http://league-of-ireland-betting.blogspot.com/)'s the first one, lots of tips so far as you can see.

I have a small bit of knowledge but certainly need some sort of help anyway.

You should be able to choose from different themes or templates or something (I'm not sure what they're called in blogspot) to get a different look to it. I'm not sure how much you can change that (colours, etc.) but you should be able to get something that looks better.

Get off the Blogger platform for a start, it's very feature-limited and data-locked, and imho it's likely to be killed off in the not-too-distant future. Get yourself onto WordPress.com (http://wordpress.com/), pick a nice theme, and forget about design for a while. Content is King.

If the site takes off and you feel like rewarding yourself with a non-standard theme, migrate to a self-hosted WordPress (http://wordpress.org/) site where you can install one of thousands of free and commercial themes. Make sure you host it in Ireland (http://www.beecher.net/services/hosting) and/or on an IE domain if your primary target audience is Irish.

If the site really takes off and actually starts earning you some money, get a professional web developer in to develop a custom theme for you. Preferably one that specialises in WordPress (http://www.beecher.net/services/development), so they can advise you how to leverage the platform to the max.

Hint hint. ;)

Wordpress.org is excellent, there's a fantastic array of great looking templates once you get the hang of it. Well worth checking out.

Just came in to agree with the Wordpress suggestions- I'm using it at the moment and find it more than adequate for my needs (travel blog).

Post the address then!

It's only really for family and friends to follow us travelling, but if anyone wants to see the layout etc. it's here (http://egypttochina.wordpress.com/).

I agree with dahamsta, don't use blogspot, go with wordpress.

You can even set up a proper domain for your blog with wordpress, you need to register your domain and then pay buy WP points or whatever they're called.
