Don't think so, theirs is a separate situation. I don't think the powers that be in Abbottstown would even be that crass.

Ok lads, so lets imagine Cobh were compliant beyond doubt and due a licence, Cork in its current form gos under, think the FAI would let the Foras club start in the A league?

If Cobh haven't appealed the decision, then they must've been given a decent reason for the refusal

Yeah I'm pretty sure clubs have like 3 days to appeal... No doubt Cork will be doing that tomorrow...

If cobh only got an A licence then they get to be in the A championship and it looks like they didnt appeal that decision. If Foras applied for a first division licence and get one then they get to play in the first .
If cobh was compliant for a first division licence then they would have got one.
Is it a shels thing these conspiracy ideas?

You post pure tripe most of the time and have been called up on it regularly by numerous people. And I think 90% of this forum believe in FAI conspiracies, its not Roswell like, we all know the FAI will do what it takes to make the composition of the leagues as preferable to them as possible.

It's quite possible that Cobh (and the other A League clubs) didn't qualify for a higher licence. Based on the talk last year that Cobh didn't include any financial information with their application, it wouldn't be shocking if they didn't qualify for a first division licence.

That said, it certainly suits the FAI to have no competition for the first division place for Foras.
