That is some squad at Bohs. Add a couple of the decent A team players and they could field 2 teams that would be likely to finish in the top 3 or 4 in the premier.

Michael Synnott, Michael Coburn and Jason Mok, all defenders are still training with the squad and lookm set to be signed for the A side, Foster said he wanted to keep all 3 for that. Kyle Moran is also still sniffing around and has played very very crap in his 3 cameos to date!

Id say Murphy will be first choice, Fenlon said in an interview that he sees O'Connor as raw talent. I really think its all to play for in terms of starting. Think Keegan, Shelley, Powell and Byrne are guaranteed starts, beyond that its down to form. Quigley has been playing right/left wing in preseason.
As Dodge said in another thread i think Melligan will be a great signing. I remember seeing his name down for a lot of goals for decent clubs over the years, impressively so for a midfielder. That said, i havent seen a lot of him. I thought Shams signing Bradley was a great steal last year but i think Dundalk signing Melligan could turn out even better.

Agreed - Michael Synnott will be in the first team squad if Ian Foster can stretch his budget to include him.
When you quoted Dillonman's previous post it unintentionally appears as though the remark about signing for the A team is from the official club website - it is not, it's probably just DM's take on it.

Greg O'Halloran signed for Cork City as Player/Assistant Manager
Mark McNulty would appear to have signed as our keeper
Nice start, two players who should be well capable for the First Division and will help what will be a mostly very young and inexperienced squad

I hear that Michael Synnott has now signed up (I expect that it will be confimed later on dundalkfc.com). Pending this confirmation I expect a final 22-man squad with Synnott added along with Marc Griffen (youth & A team player who made some first team appearances last season) and one other from the youths / A team

Do you think Cawley will start for ye?
He is in with a shout - but started on the bench for the final pre-season game against Monaghan, which I think is significant.
In my opinion the likely starting XI is:
GK : Peter Cherrie
DF : Shaun Kelly, Garry Breen, Liam Burns, Wayne Hatswell
MF: Stephen Maher, Tom Miller, JJ Melligan, Ross Gaynor
FW: Neale Fenn, Faz Kudozovic
SB : Alan Cawley, Sam Malsom, Michael Synnott, Nathan Murphy, Matt Gregg (main challengers for places - in that order)
Note: Tiarnan Mulvenna is currently out injured

So something like
Kane
Tyrrell Webster Tresson Knight
Massey, Shields, O'Neill, Georgescu
Kelly & Mulroy
for the game against Dundalk is it?
I presume you don't have 2 midfielders called David O'Neill and Dave O'Neill?!
--- Edit
Actually just seen your pre-season line-ups and Daire Doyle and Shane O'Neill look like they'd start in place of Colm Tresson (he's surely got enough experience for everyone else) and Franco.

From what I hear he was considering it, but signed up for another year. Mind you we were supposed to be a first division team when he signed up, so I wouldn't expect him to start in any games against full time players. Speaking of which, how many teams in the league will have a few full-timers this year?

If anyone else but Bohs are to win it, I think Sligo Rovers winning would be good for the league.
I wouldn`t be surprised if Sporting Franchise are battling it out with UCD for second and third last spot. Sorry Bray, you were shafted in the FAI/Cork debacle and will do well to get 20 points.
