What flights have people booked for this trip? I'm UK based and the only flight I can find is BMI through Heathrow. Working out at around £600 stg. And they don't fly every day either. Would like to do Wed-Sun but no Sunday flight.

Have spent the last couple of hours searching for alternative routes through continental Europe but having no joy price wise.

What are people finding is the best way to get there?

I'm going the BMI route but I think Air France and Air Baltic go there as well. Whichever route you opt for though, I'd expect to pay €550 plus at this stage. A good way to find alternative routes is to start at your destination and work your way back. Go onto the website for the airport in Yerevan, see which airlines fly there, and you may find a reasonable route from and to the UK.

It's a 36hr bus ride from Istanbul, bus is about $60 return. Or you could get a cheap flight from London to Trabzon via London on Pegasus, and then take a 4hr bus ($15) across the Georgian border (visa is free at border) and then take a shared taxi (probably about $20usd from Batumi to Yerevan) maybe 8hrs or marshrutka (mini-bus) would take 10 hrs and cost probably $8.

It's a pain because the Turkish-Armenian border is shut (for political reasons) otherwise you could get a flight to Kars (very eastern edge of Turkey) and then maybe a 2 hour taxi to Yerevan.

You could try going with Wizz air to Kiev and then going on Donbass to Yerevan, or going to Istanbul and seeing if you can get a cheap Armavia flight to Yerevan from Ataturk Aiport, but I doubt these will be cheap. Czech, Austrian and a crowd called Atlatis European used to do it cheaply, via Vienna or Prague but I dont think this is cheap any more.

I'm going on Aeroflot, via Moscow. Departing Heathrow at 22:10 Thursday night, arriving in Yerevan 11:05 Friday morning. Flying back Sunday afternoon, 15:50, arriving at Heathrow 21:45. Cost £420.00. This was the most convenient flight for me, would only have to take Friday off work, and cheaper than many of the other flights I've seen. Not many seats left though if you want to do the same.

We are all booked with BMI, Weds to Sat, €450 ex Dublin, next best I found was Czech but timings from Dublin were crap, may be better from London or Manchester.

OK 930 X 03SEP 5 PRGEVN 1 2140 0415+1 320 E 0 H
2 OK 931 X 07SEP 2 EVNPRG 0515 0615 320 E 0 H

The above flights were offered to us as agroup for £300 inc taxes.

BMI prices may drop as they have a lot of seats held rather than sold.

Hold on for s7 airlines. Word from their main man (an Armenian) is that they'll run direct flights out of Dublin and via Moscow for the match. They'll do the same for the Russia match (they have the route then anyway). s7 are pretty good, internationally, and have a very good new fleet. www.s7.ru (http://www.s7.ru)

Newry As I see you are flying with Aeroflot, the question that hits me is will you have to leave through passport control to book in for your onward flight to Yerevan or just go transit area . I just have a feeling if you have to go to the desks outside they may make to buy a visa for €90 . I would look into to this just to be sure .

Anyone doing a two centre for this?

We're thinking of going to Tbilsi or Tehran and just going to Yerevan for the game.

The flight to Armenia is with Aeroflot as well, so I should be able to check in for the Yerevan flight too when I turn up at Heathrow. Won't need to leave the transit area, at least I hope not. Can't imagine the shops and cafes will be open at 5am in Moscow Airport, so will make sure my iPod is fully loaded to pass the time.

Booked this morning with Austrian Airlines.

LHR-Yerevan.
Out: Thurs 2nd 15:35
Rtn: Sun 5th 05:40

£367 including all taxes and fees. Pretty decent fare compared to what else is being quoted. The 20% voucher appears to be valid until 2011 (unless its a mistake by Austrian Air in which case get in there quick!!!!)

EDIT: Lads, spotted this generic condition of using vouchers on the website.

A reservation can only be made for one adult per booking. If you would like to make reservations for several people at the same time, please make separate bookings.

I had overlooked it but everything seems to have gone through ok and you can check in for flights online so Im hopeful there should be no issue (Ill think about contacting the airline if anything looks doubtful). However, if you havent yet booked its probably worth splitting out the bookings to one adult at a time just in case.

As Junior mentioned, best to book each person separately to take advantage of The Austrian Airlines discount. Which is a pain. But you can create an account to 'save' journey details. But don't forget to change name/contact details for each person....

Never had any problems when we booked it on Friday well that's what it said on the print out for two of us .

Yeah, Ive done the same and the confirmation actually split out the two passengers and showed the prices separately (even though it was done on one booking). I think it will be ok and you can check-in online so shouldnt be any issues. However, it is a term stated on the website for the use of vouchers, so I just wanted to highlight it.
