Hey everybody. Myself and a pal go to at least one away game every campaign, and for a variety of reasons we've picked Macedonia away. Has anyone been there on the past two trips. Granted I'm sure the place has changed in the past 10 years.
Also, what are Balkan trains like? I'm thinking of plundering a cheap flight to Vienna or somewhere like that and making a bit of a train journey. Any advice.

Much appreciated. Kingdom.

My memory is of a ugly communist style city with very unfreindly locals. However the Scottish fans had a great time there so it may well have changed.

Flights available with Malev €353 ex Dublin fri - Sun. Use skyscanner.net and then go to expedia (doesnh't work if you try expedia directly). Thanks
to ybig poster for this and it has worked for me.

Apologies if posted before but I didn't know about it.

We will be playing in a new stadium next June. It is due to open with a friendly v Portugal in November.

Details and photos here but in their language.

Glad not to be going back to a stadium with very very painful memories.

Is it the same venue, with the stadium rebuilt? Two of us are definitely going can't wait!

I really want to to go on this one but apparently the heat there in June can get up to the early to mid 40's. I really wouldn't be able to take that. I'll take a look at it closer to the time.

It shouldn't be much warmer than Bulgaria or Montenegro were in the last campaign. Anything up to the mid-30's can be expected which is hot, but bearable. It's unlikely to break the 40 mark.

I seem to recall reading on another forum that in early June this year it was 42 degrees. Montenegro and Bulgaria were just about manageable. Of course I'm saying this now, but when we get into next year, chances are I'll just say I'm going regardless.

Less than a fortnight to go, so bumping this up.

Here's the weather forecast for Skopje in the first week of June last year.
