The following report is on the indo's website today:

"Europe's top sides have told FIFA they will not participate in next years World Club Championship. The world's governing body intends to revive the competition between clubs from six continents, however the G-14 which includes Arsenal and Manchester United have said its members already had enough matches to play. The clubs have also decided to press ahead with its demand for compensation for releasing players for international duty."

That's a bit much isn't it, the bit in bold.

the clubs who consider themselves the "biggest in the world".

It would be funny though if a non-g14 team won the champions league

That cannot be good for football.

Their mission statement (http://www.g14.com/G14ourmission/index.asp) seems a bit light to be honest. What is their real objective.

Be no harm if they broke away and had their own league, although that could end in tears aswell. Dont like seeing this happen at all.

I'm no fan of the money making side of football, but are the clubs grouping any worse than FIFA - allegedly one of the most corrupt world governing bodies?

Just on that point. Does anybody remember when the voting was going on for the next world cup in Germany. It was a few years ago and it was very tight and whatever way it was it came down to one vote (the guy over the ocenia -Australia) and he abstained! Very strang behaviour, the only guy to do so I think.

Later Ocenia were handed an automatic place in the finals, later again to taken away to their utter fury. The World Cup is worth hundred of million to gansters Ive heard it put. They could find out where its going to be held then buy up property etc in that country and are then in a good position to fleece fans. Brothels and other such like apparantly do a roaring tade at these type of things.

Stinks to high heavons!
