I've no problem in paying to support the club, or paying anything that supports the club. What I have a problem with is inedible food and rubbish music. I think we would all have a problem with that.
The thing is, the only people that will be there is long time supporters, not the ones that were there in the good times. So I think its only fair to "reward" these loyal supporters with proper food, that you can eat, and music easy on the ear.
Not much to ask for, is it?

Its a chance to get supporters together, nobody else has a problem with the music(the same music that has been played for Town supporters all over europe and Ireland where we have played games), don't know exactly what your looking for but its a good night out and chance for people to have a bit of craic before the season starts, as said above if you don't like it then you don't have to go, theres always someone that isn't happy

A very enjoyable night was had at the town dinner dance.. For the ones that couldnt make it it was a eventful night.. Tony Cousins gave his debut speech and was very optimistic about our chances for the coming season.. Jim Hanley also spoke and praised Seamus Butler for his hardwork with the Supporters trust which is delivering results off the pitch and weclomed TC to the club..All the commitee members Exectutive and Supporters Club had a horse named after them.. The highlight of the night was the race night when in race one horse no 2 Martinho III: Rambo ridden by M Stapleton won the first race and I backed him to win!!:D
The dinner was very enjoyable..The two jerseys for the new season were on display .The jerseys look class.. The pictures of the new jersies will be on the town website.. The finanical situation is very good for this year too.. From talking to a high prominent FAI board member at the do we were only in for thirty minutes with them at the accounts presentation compared to a certain non Dublin based team who were at least 3-4 hrs there.. The effort in paying off our creditors is really impressing the FAI and for the first time in a long while we are not as in much bother as before..
Phil Munnelly associate sponsor travelled from London.. There was very ggod vibes from the club last night at the dinner dance.. These new signings have breathed new life into us and I have a good feeling we will be doing very well finishing midtable at least.,.
I would like to compliment the organising committee on a superb nights entertainment .. I know I can be a bit of a grouch but I am delighted that things are turning for better in the club and long may it continue..

Well ladies and gents what can I say? This years dinner dance was a joy to have attended! I'm so glad I went after last year. The food was delicious a big improvement on last year. The racenight was a brilliant idea, with everyone wanting to contribute to the fun. The craic was ninety too, which was spurred on by the racing. The music too was brilliant - another improvement. It was also good to hear Jim Hanley speak on the financial position of the club and it shows how much work the Supporter's Trust has been doing since it began. Tony Cousins also spoke and it was good to hear his plans for the coming season and it shows with the players he bought.
The jerseys look very good too, although I think Umbro used an old template.
All in all the night was a success and I was glad to have went. Fair play to the people behind the night.

Fair play L.T.F.C nice to see credit being given where it's due. It went off very well and got everyone in good humour heading in to the start of the season. The race night was definitely a better bet than an auction people can put in whatever few quid they want without any embarrasment. It's also easier to get a lot of small sponsorships for horses and jockeys etc than big prizes for auction. I also want to mention the meal as well which was first rate. For 25 quid it was great value for money all round.

I am glad that everyone agrees on the enjoyable night on Saturday.. If things are legitiatly crap and the majority of people agree with it then yeah its fine to criticise.. But it was very harsh to criticise the good people that organised the whole night as its not an easy thing to do.. but look its all forgotten about now.. back to the football..

Wasn't harsh at all Martinho. The fact remains that last years dinner dance was crap.
I wasn't criticizing the good people either, so don't say I was. I criticized the night. I wouldn't dare criticize anyone on the committee either, especially on a public forum, as I know they are doing major work.

I know they were. But if it was rubbish, it was rubbish. I didn't criticize the people either. If I or you Martinho did poor work we'd both be criticized.
They've little to be at looking at, looking at forums instead of running the club.
