Saw a rundown of the Guardians 20 favourite episodes so thought I'd ask here, but I'll keep it to my seven favourite. If you need reminding then look up wtso.net for every episode synopsis

Anyway, and not in order of preference

Homer at the Bat, Season 3 Episode 17

Mr. Burns bets $1,000,000 that his company team can beat a competing plant's team. In order to do so, he replaced the regular company team with new security guard Roger Clemens, new janitor Wade Boggs, lunchroom cashier Ken Griffey Jr., and other new employees like Steve Sax, Don Mattingly, Ozzie Smith, Darryl Strawberry, Jose Canseco, and Mike Scoscia (who runs the solid contaminate encapsulator).

Marge vs The Monorail, Season 4 Episode 12

After getting $3 million from a fine due to Mr. Burn's illegal disposal of nuclear waste, the town decides to spend money on a needless monorail ....built from shoddy materials. Leonard Nimoy guest voices as himself.

Whacking Day, Season 4 Episode 20

While the town of Springfield prepares for the annual snake whacking day (which Lisa dreads), Bart gets expelled from school for embarrassing Mr. Skinner during a school inspection. Barry White guests

Cape Feare, Season 5 Episode 2

Sideshow Bob is paroled from prison, and he has only one thing in mind for Bart: revenge.

Lisa On Ice, Season 6 Episode 8

Sibling rivalry breaks out on and off the ice when Lisa proves to be a better hockey player than Bart

Radioactive Man, Season 7 Episode 2

Friendships could be torn when Bart and Milhouse are both up for the role of `Fallout Boy' in the new `Radioactive Man' movie. Meanwhile, the town of Springfield sees $$$ and milk the `Radioactive Man' film crew for all their cash.

A Fish Called Selma, Season 7 Episode 19

Troy McClure's sagging film career is given a boost when he is seen in public with a woman. And to stay in the public eye, Troy must do more than merely date this woman, who happens to be Selma.

Also this surely has to be the Simpsons greatest song

ipKwNbD1M1Y

Perfectly captures Mr.Burns humorous evil from the early seasons (sadly lost after some time)

The one where Bart goes to work in the Burlesque house is my favourite and has the best ever Simpson's musical number at the end.

...and the "Sex Cauldron joke" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bitxD1H52c) is one of my favourites.

I'm scared that if I start listing my favourite episodes/moments/songs, I'll be here all night.

Couldn't really pin one down but off the top of my head: the one which ripped off Rear Window or the one where Sideshow Bob becomes mayor.

Tend to think more in terms of favourite scenes rather than episodes, as most every episode has something brilliant in it. If pushed the Frank Grimes one is one of my faves though, and the Hank Scorpio one.

Favourite scenes include Homer trying to intercept his abusive letter to Mr Burns:
"Hello, my name is Mr. Burns. I believe you have a letter for me."
"Okay Mr. Burns, what's your first name."
"...I don't know."

Homer falling into Springfield Gorge twice on the skateboard and then the ambulance trolley, the bit where the ambulance drives a foot and hits the tree genuinely nearly killed me the first time I saw it. :D

Moe undergoing the polygraph test:
"I don't deserve this kind of shabby treatment!"

The Stonecutters episode and the one where Homer goes to work for Hank Scorpio are my old favourites, but I saw the dental plan episode again recently, and it's a gem.

Where Homer goes back to college, goes to space, they go to Australia, the Burn's Casino and where Burns wants to adopt Bart are some of the best ones.

That reminds me: I read recently that that episode was running a bit short, and so the rake gag was extended by a minute. Ah, the happy accidents of history.

Beer Baron....
Just think from sstart to finish its hilarious

From the opening shots of Paddys day when the Britsh Chip shop blows up...think they may have cut that scene since to homer explaining his home made booze exploding by saying "it must'a been that bean i ate"

Ill get you beer baron...No you wont......

cape fear one gotta be my favourite, kinda drawn a story out like they do in only fools and horses. Thats the standout one for me.

The one where moe tries to get homer involved in the insurance scam is another great one. "Must kill Moe.....weee", "oooh lunctime"

ANd prolly third one would be where they think burns is the alien.

One of my fave scenes..Homer and Flanders are driving to the school in really thick snow.
They hit a fire hydrant.
Ned Flanders: "Homer, I think you hit something.
Homer: I hope it was Flanders. ...

Or the one when homer gets the helper monkey, he's watching a program on Tv about ducks ..
shouts:" Marge can I get a duck"
Marge: "you already have a monkey"
Homer: " Can HE get a duck"

The one where Homer goes skiing and meets Ned who's wearing an overly tight outfit;

"Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all, nothing at all, nothing at all....."

Homer then accidently descends the ski slope and does the splits;

"This is the worst pain ever" followed by him getting battered by snow again and again in the crotch area.

Classic.

The Scorpio one is genius.

The one where Homer is launched into space and inadvertently saves the crew with the help of an "inanimate carbon rod".

The one featuring Moulder and Scully from the X Files.

The one featuring "Planet of the Apes - The Musical" :D . Hysterical stuff.

Homer (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0144657/): [gasps] Tom Landry's hat, and it's autographed. "To Berman's Dry Cleaning. Best wishes, Tom Landry."
Bart (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004813/): Why don't you buy it?
Homer (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0144657/): I can't buy that. Only management-type guys with big salaries like me can afford things like that.
[gasps]
Homer (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0144657/): Guys like me! I'm a guy like me!
Hank Scorpio (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000983/): Uh, hi, Homer. What can I do for you?
Homer (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0144657/): Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks.
Hank Scorpio (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000983/): Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third.
Homer (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0144657/): Uh-huh.
Hank Scorpio (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000983/): There's Hammocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There.
Homer (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0144657/): Mm-Hmm.
Hank Scorpio (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000983/): That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the hammock complex on third.
Homer (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0144657/): Oh, the hammock district!
Hank Scorpio (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000983/): That's right.
