some great teams lads.. couple of blasts from the past!!

everyone could put a different team and it would be a good one...

what about naming ure avenue team of the decade .. some smashing players and maybee a couple of old legends would creep into it :)

Some really good players in the last 10 years but the Avenue and Newmarket teams of the early 90's were full of fantastic players. All tough men but could really play too. The league was really competitive with teams doing well in the national cups - a trip to O'Briens Bridge was a guaranteed 90 mins of trench warfare followed by a day of cheap pints in the pup around the corner.

thats a fact, the likes of malley skinny casey johhny purtill mannix were all leading lights in the 90's
avenue team of the 2000's? gonna have to exercise the grey matter on this one an think who was and was not playing from '00 to '10

Would have to add Alfonso D'Aurio at full back I think. Avenue team of the 90's was immense. All could really compete physically, I remember many occasions coming out of Ruan or Fairgreen battered and very rarely anything to show for it.
