report from a very un co-operative
soccercentral.ie (http://www.soccercentral.ie/viewstory.asp?id=5177&mainheading=Eircom&viewstory=yes) ,who at the time of writing this seem to be favouring the unreadable font, so i had to retreive the story from the soure code so apologies if it aint formatted ok or if there are tags left in it, as ive jus popped into the library to check the scores after being in the pub all morning watching the ireland game

CORK CITY thought they had moved into second place in the eircom Premier Division with another vital victory - but this time title rivals Bohemians pulled an equaliser out of the bag at Dalymount Park through Glen Crowe.

Derek Coughlan was the City hero as he headed home twice to give Liam Murphy's side the lead against a Bohs side looked like it was heading towards another defeat.

The towering defender scored three minutes before half-time and again four minutes after it - but in the end it wasn't enough as Bohs made their second-half pressure count with only seconds remaining through top scorer Crowe, who buried a Paul Byrne cross from six yards.

Bohs actually had the better of things early on and deservedly took the lead midway through the half having been denied a penalty beforehand.

Bohs could have had at worst a free-kick on the edge of the box, or at best a penalty after nine minutes when Tony O'Connor's long ball was collected by Trevor Molloy, who was blocked illegally by Cork keeper Michael Devine. But referee Hugh Byrne waved play on.

Crowe had an audacious overhead effort soon after, although his attempt flew wide - but the Gypsies did take the lead midway through the half when Devine was harshly adjudged to have blocked Molloy, who ran on to Paul Byrne's pass, and a penalty was awarded.

Molloy made no mistake from the spot and the home side had a deserved lead.
After that, though, they looked disjointed at times and it was no surprise that Cork came back into the game.

In the 32nd minute Ollie Cahill had a shot charged down before Colin Pat O'Brien fired wide - then Coughlan headed against the bar from Alan Carey's free-kick.

But Coughlan eventually found his range in the 43rd minute as he reached Kelvin Flanagan's dangerous corner-kick to head home, despite the efforts of Wayne Russell in goal,<BR>

Crowe should have handed the home side the advantage again before the interval when he was given a free shot at goal by Dave Morrison's excellent pull-back, but inexplicably he shot over.

After the half-time break it was the visitors who had their tails up, and Alan Bennett and O'Brien were both denied in quick succession by last-gasp defending - but Cork persisted and took the lead through Coughlan, who nodded over Russell from Alan Carey's free-kick after O'Brien was fouled.

Bohs came back and Crowe had a goal disallowed for off-side before Devine had to be at his best to deny Kevin Hunt from inside the area, while Stephen Caffrey was also inches away from an equaliser six minutes from time when he headed just past the far post from a Byrne corner.

But Crowe came up with the goods with less than 15 seconds remaining to send the Bohs fans home happy - although it is now seven matches since they've
experienced victory.

BOHEMIANS: Russell; O'Connor, Caffrey, John, Hill (Fitzpatrick 83); Byrne, Harkin (Shelley 66), Hunt, Morrison (O'Neill 83); Crowe, Molloy.

CORK CITY: Devine; Carey, Coughlan, Daly, Horgan; Flanagan (Buckley 59), Bennett, O'Grady, Cahill; O'Brien (Caulfield 85), Hartigan.

Referee: H Byrne (Dublin).

CORK boss Liam Murphy slammed referee Hugh Byrne’s handling of the match following the Leesiders’ 2-2 draw against Bohemians in the eircom Premier Division at Dalymount Park on Saturday.
Two headed goals from defender Derek Coughlan (43, 49 minutes) looked to have secured a seventh win in nine games for Murphy and his men before Glen Crowe’s last gasp goal earned the Gypsies a share of the spoils they hardly deserved.
Crowe struck three minutes into time added on at the end of the game to ease the pressure on Bohs boss Pete Mahon.
Trevor Molloy had fired the Dubliners in front with a hotly disputed penalty on 21 minutes to spark Murphy’s anger.
Conor O’ Grady was booked for dissent after the Dublin official reckoned Michael Devine fouled Molloy although Crowe’s infringement on Declan Daly went unnoticed in the build up to the spot-kick award.
Cork’s Ollie Cahill and John Caulfield were also booked by Mr Byrne and Murphy told inthenet.ie: "It was a fascinating game really from the referee’s point of view. He really took control from the start, didn’t he ?", he said sarcastically.
"They didn’t have a single player booked, yet three of our lads got yellow cards and for what ? That is what I would like to know.
"Conor got booked for disputing the penalty, Ollie got booked for a perfectly good tackle and John got booked for nothing.
"On that basis why didn’t Molloy have his name taken ? He shaped up to the referee and moaned at him for about five minutes and got away with it. Where’s the justice in that for my players ?
"And it wasn’t a penalty. Absolutely not. It was a 50/50 challenge. What was the referee thinking about ?"
Cork deserved all three points, but went home with just a draw to show for their efforts after Crowe struck in the 93rd minute.
Murphy believes his team need to develop a more ruthless streak.
He said: "I view it as two points lost, not one point gained. We showed great character to come back from 1-0 down in Bohs’ own backyard.
"We looked to have the three points in the bag but were undone by one hopeful ball aimed to the far post. We were caught out by a lack of concentration.
"But I’ve got a very young team on a learning curve. But the sooner we learn to kill off teams the better. The game was there for the taking for us and we let it slip through our hands.
"But I don’t want to be too critical of my players.
"They were a credit to the club again."

James gets this weeks 'Foot in Mouth trophy':) . How can "snatching a last minute winner" earn a point? It's 3 points
for a win isn't it? Still James you could always become a commentator with form like that.

Dunno what game soccercentral were at as the inthenet report is much more accurate!

What a "performance" by the ref eh?

Molloy through on goal, Devine tackles him & the ball at the edge of the box, possible freekick or peno? wouldn't be a sending off anyway as genuine attempt to get the ball by Devine.
Molloy screams & shouts at the ref for a few minutes but the ref does nothing. Is he feeling there was some truth in Molloys claims?

Molloy thru on Devine inside the box again, both keeper & forward compete for the ball, Molloy shoots & Devine knocks him over. Unbelievably the ref gives a penalty! Most blatant episode of a referee making up for a possible mistake earlier

Bohs had trouble defending crosses all night & no surprise Derek scored from two set pieces. InKelvins absence Carey should take left sides corners as he sure knows how to wipe them in.

Linesman...sorry ASSISTANT REFEREE on the stand side was so bad he was funny. Regularily caught 20 yards behind the play which meant he only guessing if the player onside or not! In one piece of play a high ball was played to city forward who was well offside but linesman didn't put his flag up until the ball hit the ground after what seemed an age!
