would that be one team made up of the best of the three or will they play one after another? they could also field the 3 teams at the same time -pitch be a bit crowded though. i suppose these things have to be done with all the fixture congestion.:D
could be an interesting QF between Pike and Limerick

Limerick been in pre season should level things up a bit on the pitch, Pike getting beat 4-1 by our u20's last year during their own pre season shows it takes a squad a bit of time to gel, easy to think that no-one cares either way but when you see Fairviews crowd take a 300% increase when we played then in a friendly last year you'd have to think Pike will be well up for it.
I however couldnt give a toss. :) roll on Tolka and the Brandywell!

I totally agree with you monk. I couln't give a toss either way. but in general wasn there a small bit of gloating (not from you but i have a general feeling there was. i could be wrong) when Limerick stuffed Pike last summer when Pike were in pre season. We cant have it both ways but I stll expect us to beat Pike.

Scully wont care doubt anyone does its just pre season. And we start in QF so how does that matter its a nothing cup just pre season games. Obviously want us to win because i always do but i wouldn't be making it out to be anything big.

If these sides do end up playing each other in the MSC 1/4 final , what type of numbers for the attendance would ye expect to turn out for the game? 100/200? more????
Any idea???

I remember 1 or 2 had the score in there signitures for awhile. I'm sure Pike will be very much up for this game. Then again a Senior side should comfortably handle a Junior side, but going on the squads, I'd say there isn't too much between them.

Some people around the town dismissed Limerick FC as just being a junior team and the likes of Pike and Fairview would beat them and the only reason their own clubs and players themselves wouldnt go senior is cause they could if they wanted, but they didnt want to.......:D
Then one morning half a Limerick team when to Annacotty and won 4-0 and the other half that afternoon went to Pike and won 5-0.
Cockyness soon turned to bitterness. :)
Then 1 or 2 senior fans decided to wind up those who had talked so much crap, big fcuking deal.

Sure won't this settle it then? With the situation reversed, Pike half way through their season and Limerick in preseason.

Settle what? our 20's knocked 4 past Pike last year when both teams were in pre-season, how do you excuse that?

Will be a good run out to see how the team are progressing. Winning a bonus but not essential. Pike will have a tough match against Marys anyway so limerick and pike might not even meet.

All depends on the day and time really. If its a Sunday morning or afternoon it will be a poor turn out, 60/70, caused by lots of people having their own matches on or people just too lazy to go. If it was to be played on a week night with nothing else clashing with it (Champions league etc...) I'd say 150/200 maybe a little more.

Well if they do meet, Pike are due to be at home, so I dont see it being a midweek game, unless Pike give away home advantage and play in Jackman Park, which is very doubtful.
Surely if it was a 2pm or 3pm kick off on a Sunday afternoon, most of Limerick (junior & senior) football followers would turn out????

I'd miss it then with my own match so i would not like that ha.
I'd presume it will be 10:30 on a Sunday morning. Pike won't move it just cause its Limerick FC they are playing. At that time i'd say 60 or 70 people might show up for it.

I think it would be a 2.30 kick off on a sunday if in pike ground or a 7.30 during the week game if in jackman park and Id say there would be a great crowd there, it would make for a great game and great atmosphere, I hope they meet

If it were an FAI cup game id agree, being an MSC game im not so sure. Pike average about 30 people a game so support for them is poor. Now you might think that hundreds of juniorballers would come out in support of them but that would contradict the jealous hatred everyone seems to have of them around the town. I wouldnt be surprised however.
Limerick only consider this trophy 4th in their list of prioritys this season, then again having one of the most loyal and hardcore group of fans around im sure causing a load of hassle with juniorballers at a game will be too tempting to resist for some.
Acually dont know what to make of it now :)

Just to prove a point here, Pikes average is 30.
So Limerick's would have to be less than 30, and can you tell me where an official website says that our average attendance is 29?
Thank you.

If we don't win the MSC and score more than 47 goals against Pike, then Pat Scully has some serious questions to answer.

this game between pike and limerick will determine nothing because last year pike beat cork city in this comp and does that make pike better than cork city... dont think so... although imo i think pike are the better team :ball:

So a team 3rd in a Junior League is better than a team in the First Division of the League of Ireland. Something wrong there.
