Anybody know when the fixtures of the upcoming season are out ?

Last year it was around mid-February

Oddly enough, the thread asking when the fixtures would be out last year was started on January 9th (http://foot.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=109694&highlight=fixtures) as well....spooky.

And the person starting that thread had 5 letters in their name also...coincidence, I think not!

Fixtures were released 5pm Feb 16th last year for what it's worth (not much).

Of all the fans to make a retort like that, I thought that Cork '13th franchise' fans might have had the sense not to.....

Do a bit of readoing on the history of football in Cork before you make yourself look silly next time . :)

Some history

Fordsons
Cork FC
Cork Bohs
Cork City
Cork United
Cork Athletic
Evergreen
Cork Hibs
Cork Celtic
Albert Rovers/Cork Albert/Cork Alberts
Cork United
Cork City.

Appreciate Cork Celtic are considered by many to be Evergreen (incl Cork's regular football historian Plunkett Carter) and that the 3 Alberts were more or less the same team.

What's not been exhausted yet if in time they may appear -
FC Cork
AFC Cork
Cork Rovers
Cork Albion
Cork Arsenal(?)
Cork Wanderers (would Cobh permit it)
Cork Corinthians ( or Cories for short)
Or even go the full monty and become officially Cork Rebels FC, or even Cork Republic FC.
Even possibly Turners Cross Latest Tenants FC, and on that theme take a leaf out of Bayern Munich(Munich Bavaria) and become Cork Munster FC

It said in todays paper that the season is starting on March 5th.

Anyone else think its ridiculous that the fixtures only come out a couple of weeks before the season starts? (i know theyve to wait the licensing to be sorted but surely that can be done alot sooner too) - its fcuking annoying!!

So back on topic I'm sure the FAI will "arrange" the early fixtures like last season so they can issue a press release saying how attendances are up...

Galway v Dundalk

Rovers v Fingal

Cork v Bohs

Pat's v UCD

Sligo v Drogheda

Does anyone know when the mid-season brak will be. I'd guess it'll be during the world cup. I also heard rumours that it might be a two week break during the world cup. Will it definitely be June or July?

10-24 June was mentioned before. That implies there'd be a midweek round on 9 June.

Well would you rather your club p¡ss off without a licence because the licencing deadline would have to be brought forward and have the fixtures out ages and no clubs in the league?

Bohs v Fingal or vice versa is apparently on the provisional fixtures list, Bohs away I would have thought if they want to bump up the first series attendance figures.

And back on topic: Cork Rock Solid, sponsored by Pfeizer.

It would be better off renaming this thread to a potential new name for a club in Cork at this stage?
Some good suggestions there by the way .

Cork City 2010 Nice and handy for the next time when it can be Cork City 2012

Serious question, why is there a mid term break on the LOI?
In the middle of Summer when there is no pitch issues?
When the Kids are off school and might actually be able to persuade the fat bloke on the couch to take them to a game?
I could understand it if it was trying to avoid clashing with Ireland in the World Cup or some similar events which would stop the nation, but it seems a tad silly to me.

Because part time players want to go on a summer holiday. (and thats not being flippant, that is the actually reason)
