I think I remember him, was he from Rathedmond?
Did he play any games for the first team?

David Pugh was the best defender ever played for Rovers, often gets overlooked
Not by me, he doesn't. Go back to my early post.

As hinted earlier what about Dixie Dean? He was our most famous ever player. Well before our time I suppose.

Welcome to the newest member of the AAS (Avvenalaf Appreciation Society). Rory H is my agent and Hon Sec of the Society.
No. Peachey, though I purchased many a Silver Circle line from the esteemed Thomas Fallon, I was never involved in anything as technical as speakers.

From what I can remember of it the draw took place every sunday in the Gilhooley hall after 12 mass. The proceeds of the draw went towards the up keep of the cathedral. I stand to be corrected on that.

From todays weekender
Sligo’s sporting finest for 2009 are revealed!
Danny Ventre,
2009 may have been a bittersweet year for Sligo Rovers – League Cup semi-finalists, FAI Cup finalists and a return to European competition – but driving the team with a neversay-die attitude was Danny Ventre, a defender-cummidfielder.
