have heard a few rumours about other comings and goings but nothing confirmed as of yet

that's two big losses for us, is White studying or working over there or what? I presume Sheehan will end up there aswell now.

They're going to be badly missed, especially Conor. I suppose it's inevitable that our best players will move on but it doesn't bode well for the new season. I don't suppose we got a fee for either of them?

No fees for amateurs.

Surely amateur status doesnt matter, to transfer player registration from one team to another must be agreed on between teams. But afaik the youths only do 1yr contracts that end at the new yr mean all players are free agents come jan.
Anyway best of luck to the lads.

If you're amatuer, you've no contract, as I understand it. That's why those signings can be made outside the transfer window - no contract to register. None to break either, so no compensation due.

Edit - last line here (http://www.eleven-a-side.com/acrossthewater/news.asp?n=37826).

Peter White played very well for us last season Conor was not as strong as previous seasons and at times looked very disinterested. IMO Peter White will be a much bigger lose than Conor.

I think the squad in general this year will be very interesting with about 9 first team players leaving during the season for one reason or another. So hopefully some of our younger players some of whom now have 3 yrs LOI experience can step up to the plate

I'm pretty sure Conor Wallace (the older wallace brother) will be coming back into the squad, probably Danny Furlong too.

How can you say backwards Danny Furlong was not playing last season as injured and Conor Wallace is a good player who took some time out due to playing so much. The local players we have now want to be there and know what is required in terms of commitment also a lot of the players are from the double winning u18 teams which may not translate into anything but who knows. At least we are attempting to keep to a large base of local based players with a lot of excellent younger players coming through the ranks with the current u18 team playing very well at the moment

Well it sounds like its going backward to me. A whole load of players have left that were in the first team during the last year. The news that two of our best players (conor and peter) and people mentioning sheehan possibly going doesnt sound great.
Last season was our best season and you could see it was larely due to Mick bringing in some experienced players. I would still want to see the majority of the team being young wexford players but we wont improve just playing the under 20's team.
Im not begruding players leaving or anything but surely these players leaving is surely not good at all.
I know its good having players playing for him who really want to be in the set up but im more concerned at the fact so many players have left and not the ones going to other LOI teams but to local leagues.

I'd see it as two steps forward last season and one slight step back now although im still looking forward to the new season.
Sinnot wasnt great last season but our problem has allways been scoring so ill be happy as long as we manage to keep hold of Sheehan. Danny Furlong will be a huge boost and im hoping Miller will come back fit and fill infor Sinnot. While Sinnot and White are undoubtably losses i feel we can cover them,.

A few questions:
Will Paul Murphy come back after getting his fitness with the All Blacks?
What happened to Gavin Doyle?
Is Miller coming back?

I'd agree with you totally.
Q.1 what do you mean? all blacks?? whats all this about?
Q.2 & 3 I believe both have left the youths set up to play in the local leagues!!!! This sort of thing is what im worried about. I wish players like sinnott well when they go onto bigger and better but when lads are leaving to play with other local teams then something is wrong it seems

the allblacks are the kilmore team where he plays now, i was hoping it was just to ease him back into playing again after his injuries.

yes it is worrying when players leave for local teams but ask yourselves the reasons behind it some left as not getting game time with Youths which you can understand and looking for a chance to prove themselves again, some left due to commitments outside of football others simply just not good enough.

i would like to see paul murphy back as I think he would help a lot with our goal scoring as long as he is back to full fitness and wants to play as he never looked fit playing for the Youths IMO
