No, I'm not sure why you think Brian would write an article for the Sporting Fingal : Longford Town LSC game and put it on the UCD website. Can you explain what you mean?
That's okay, if Longford Town don't have a report then surely it's okay to say that.

theres a report on www.ltfc.ie written by brian form the point of view of a fingal fan? :)
EDIT: seems to be replaced now actually heres the newer version.
Longford Town bowed out of the Leinster Senior Cup on penalties despite an encouraging display against Sporting Fingal at the Oscar Traynor centre in Coolock on Saturday. Longford were out of the blocks from the off and took the lead after only two minutes. Peter Hynes reacted first to a loose Sporting pass to lob keeper Quigley from 20 yards. The town could have increased their advantage on 10 minutes when Derek Glynn shot just wide from the edge of the box after being played in by Cathal Brady.
Sporting finally created their first chance after 15 minutes when Glen Crowe's effort had Shanahan beaten but rebounded off the crossbar. Crowe again should have done better when he outpaced Deans to a through ball but saw his effort sail over the Longford goal.
As the second half progressed the premier division team pressed the Longford defence back in their efforts to find an equaliser. Crowe once again had the Longford defence scrambling when his low shot was cleared off the line after Shanahan failed to clear his area. Longford too had chances and Glynn shot just wide after Thomas Hyland cushioned a header into his path while John Lester's free kick was just over after a foul on Cathal Brady. Fingal found their equaliser on 71 minutes when Eamon Zayed was on hand after Shanahan could only parry Ger O'Brien's close range shot. Longford could have and probably should have won it in the final minute of normal time when Peter Hynes header across goal was directed just wide by Longfords impressive substitute Fiacra McArdle.
When extra time failed to separate the sides it was down to penalties. For Sporting James, Kirby, O'Neil and Byrne all found the target. Longford scored through Gary and Kevin Cronin but efforts by Cathal Brady and Fiacra McArdle were saved by Quigley in the Fingal goal.
Teams
Sporting Fingal: Quigley, James, Fitzgearld, O'Briem, Maher, Paisley, Byrne, Dawson, Crowe, Duggan, Zayed
Subs: Kirby, Quinn, O'Neil
Longford Town: Shanahan, Tyrrell, G Cronin, Deans, K Cronin, Lester, Brady, Hyland, Hynes, Glynn, McDonagh
Subs: Lee for Lester, McArdle for Glynn, Perrin for Deans

Bray eased their way into the next round of the revived Leinster Senior Cup, though not without some nervous moments. Shane O'Neill's early strike was cancelled within the half-hour by Austin Skelly's penalty, but Jake Kelly capitalised on a lay-off by O'Neill to fire home from a narrow angle just before the end of normal time to seal the tie.

Bangor 1 - 2 UCD aet
Good game, toes are frozen!
Nice of you to stay 'til the end.
Very competitive game, Bangor Celtic lived up to their billing as Leinster Senior League Champions.
UCD hit the woodwork or the side netting three times before Ciaran Kilduff stooped for the first goal in the second half. Bangor Celtic equalised from their number two(?) and on ninety minutes Kilduff's penalty was touched onto the post by the 'keeper. UCD hit the woodwork one more time and then Rusk with a run and shot from the edge of the box.
Thanks to Crumlin Utd for hosting this at short notice and good luck to Bangor Celtic for the rest of the season.

Nope we were all praying it went straight to penalties, but the ref decided on extra time. UCD got the winner with about 5 minutes left in extra time. Lovely goal it was too, as was the Bangor equaliser.

Shamrock Rovers 2 Wexford Youths 1
I was equal parts surprised at how good Youths were and how poor Rovers were. Youths had the chances to at least get a draw from the game missing a couple of one on one's and having a chance cleared off the line. Youths will surprise a lot of teams in the first division if they can carry that form in, generally very solid throughout the field with pace to burn up front, if Price and Murray are the first choice partnership for Rovers they'll be very vulnerable to quick forwards, Sheahan and Furlong up front for Youths skinned them quite a few times.
In a weird twist of fate I also won the half time draw so I now have a second Rovers season ticket, pretty funny considering it was the first time I ever bought a half time raffle ticket and I was supporting the Youths on the night!

Bray Wanderers have been drawn at home to Dundalk in the quarter final of the Leinster Senior Cup. The draw was made in FAI Headquaters by LFA President John Coughlan and League of Ireland director Fran Gavin. The full draw is as follows:
Bray Wanderers v Dundalk
Shamrock Rovers v Shelbourne
Bohemians v Sporting Fingal
UCD v St Patrick's Athletic or Drogheda United
Matches to be played on or before Sunday April 4th.

Drogheda took the spoils at Richmond Park 0-1 Drogs from an early header.
St.Pats created a few openings one dragged wide in the first half, Drogs 'keeper got down well to block in the second. Drogs had their chances aswell one header from a corner was deftly headed from three yards out but the Pats 'keeper got across to punch clear. Terrific save.
Reasonable crowd for a Monday, both sets of fans got in some flag waving practice for the season ahead.

Our second scorer was Dawson. He had a great game in the second half as did most of our team. Much improved from the first half. Should have been a goal for Bohs in the first half but the linesman didnt see that the ball was about a foot over the line :)

Poor game in dalymount. Was like a pre-season friendly. Good for the younger players to get a bit of experience playing for the first team.
Special mention to the Fingal right back. Some brilliant fist pumping celebrations for the 2nd goal before running half the length of the pitch to celebrate. At least one person is taking this competition seriously

Yeah your right. Terrible how a young player of about 17 or 18 playing his first competitive game for the club should celebrate a goal by his team which meant we won the game. Shocking stuff all together.
Seems the comp matters enough to you, considering you felt the need to post about the lad and go to the game.

As I live less than a 5 min walk from Dalymount it's not that big a deal for me to go & watch a game.:p
I'm sorry you don't have a sense of humour. If that was his first game then fair enough but to see this one lad celebrating victory & the complete indifference on all the rest of the players was funny.

I think i may have taken your comment out of context, for that i apologise. I thought you where having a pop at the lad out of frustration at losing the game. Just felt it was a little unfair on a young player. You elaborated more in the second post and i can see what you actually meant.

That week looks a good time for UCD and Drogheda Utd at the UCD Bowl aswell. The next likely date is May 17th, depending on some results there will be a few LoI sides playing six mid-weeks in a row.
