Carel Tiofack a striker from Cork(ballincogagh sorry for the spelling) maybe Reb or yerman had heard of him. Plays at under 15 level.
Giovanni Boccarossa, real Irish name but is Irish born and looks to be a very accomplished player already. Rumour is italy were trying to get him to play for thier under age side under the granny rule
Ritchie Towell .a great engine and with good vision,
Kieran Sadlier joined West Ham a striker
Danny Purdy, A striker who has two good feet and great positional sense already playing for West Ham at under 18 level despite only being 16
Danny McGuiness, a tremendous passer of the ball.
Found this post, on another site...dont know any of them though...

Neil Yadolahi is being compared to Rio Ferdinand.

Neil Yadolahi is being compared to Rio Ferdinand.
Is he really though? The person on that forum says he bases his style on Rio Ferdinand's. It doesn't mean that he is actually like or that he has the potential to be as good as Rio Ferdinand.
I don't think it's fair to be comparing young players to such established professionals so early in their careers especially when little to nothing is known about them. These kinds of comparisons can unduly raise expectations.

What about Chris McCann at Burnley, is meant to be back in the next couple of weeks and is only 22. Hopefully will get a run of games in the Prem this season.

Has anyone seen Kevin Long of Cork City soon to be Burnley play? Centre half, tipped for a big year in the Tribune, doesnt necessarily mean anything but this lad has slipped below my radar to date.
havent seen much of him (one or two decent games against Bohs at most) but he has a very good reputation amongst Cork City fans (who im sure will be able to tell you more about him) and has been tipped for a move across the water for a while now.
You said he is expected to go straight into the first team squad - thats brilliant news if true. Best of luck to the lad.

big lad ...very capable still learning but has ability and is very mobile..I like him and hope he does well. Could get a run early because of his physique..similar to richard dunne as a young lad. He is a work in progress but is deffo one to watch

I remember seeing Dunne in a B international in Tolka and he stood out as being completely useless. A large, lumbering oaf.
Just something to keep in mind for all the chaps on here writing off players left right and centre, some of whom are as young as 18(!). And this is usually based on seeing highlights on MOTD or 15 minutes of a match somewhere.

There's a young lad at Forest called Jean Biansumba; he has played underage for Ireland despite being born in the Congo. They also have Niall Byrne, Robbie Gibbons and Darragh Raynor.

Mark Byrne is there too, he's out on loan with Rushden and Diamonds. Is he related to Niall?
According to his wikipedia entry - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Byrne - it was an initial 6 month loan but he
is expected to stay for the rest of the season because he's a bloody beast and scored at Luton

True they haven't established themselves yet, still time, Gibson has scored some belters but can never get a grip on the game most of the time.

I think Brendan Maloney is back from his loan spell at Notts County. Not sure if Billy Davies rates him though.

Yeh Maloney is rated but isn't going to get in the side ahead of Gunter who has been superb.
Mark Byrne isn't all that, and is probably too small to make it at the highest level, he doesn't have enough ability to compensate for his lack of height.

Presume that was the B game we lost 0-1 to the North somehow after murdering them for 90 mins? Remember Dunne alright and maybe Duff playing as well.

The Irish Post (For Crosbys benefit - One of the 2 Irish Newspapers in Britain) had an article this week of the 10 players to watch out for in 2010 with a chance of breaking on to the International Scene. Doesnt strictly follow the thread title of being U21's only but thought it might be of interest to some.
I dont read the paper that often and didnt see 2009's list which might be the reason, but there are 1 or 2 strange inclusions and a few obvious omissions.

It wasnt a Top 10 as such, but I was surprised to see the likes of Long included and the likes of Garvan, McCarthy, Foley and McCann excluded.
Interestingly, dont think there are any 2g Irish in the list (could be mistaken).
EDIT: Just found the full article on line for those interested.

I would guess that its because everyone knows about those three and expects them to make the breakthrough, the others are mostly outside chances.

I love Dave Mooney for all he did for us especially in 2007 but he's not going to be an international player as far as I can see. A good Football League player definitely but unless he starts banging them in in the Championship I don't see it. Though, arguing against myself, at Norwich in the Champo he knocked in 3 in 9 and (I know this is a stretch) had a universally accepted perfectly good goal disallowed in another game that would have made it in 4 in 9.

Tommy Amos - Wigan
I was in a taxi in Liverpool once and the driver was a 2nd Gen fella and he mentioned this guy as a Scouser qho played for us, he said that John Rooney will get the headlines now after mentioning his eligibility but 5 years down the line it'll be Tommy Amos playing for us and Rooney will be a footnote!
He was quite emphatic in what he was saying, and was convinced that this guy was the real deal and was fully committed to us and had turned down invites to English under age training things.....and then just as I was starting to get excited about this new prospect the guy said....but I would think that....I'm his uncle.....so it was a slightly biased opinion!
