The U19s got paired with the holders and runners up of the 2009 championship in the 2010 elite round. We meet England and Ukraine and bosnia are also included with only one place in the finals in France up for grabs.
The U17s would appear to have a much better chance on paper with Finland, Greece and Austria standing between them and a place in Liechtenstein in May.
No venues yet for the above.
The draws were made yesterday for the first phase of the 2010/11 competitions as well.
The U17s go to Malta to face the hosts, Norway and Albania with the top 2 to progress to the elite round along with the best 2 runners up.
The U19s go to Bulgaria to face the hosts, Serbia & Luxembourg with again the top 2 and the 2 best runners up to progress.

It's a Group of Death alright.
They need some nice neutral, compromise venues to stage the group at.

played against Russia in February - http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3997&Itemid=136
He was in a training camp earlier in the year before the qualifiers in June - http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4269:irish-u19s-set-for-training-camp-ahead-of-uefa-championship-qualifiers&catid=4:under-19&Itemid=12
But he didn't play any part in the 3-nation competition in September.
So he's on the fringes of the squad, he'll probably be involved in the next series of games

I know that he was injured at the start of the season so that may well have been the reason for his exclusion.
He's really highly thought of at the Wolves and as far as I am aware is back playing regularly in our precocious academy team (have drawn with Man U and beat Liverpool this season), so will hopefully get a place.
hopefully... really nice fella, tough footballer! deserves a good go at it.
