brazil are the only team to win a world cup outside their own continent, so i can see maybe ivory coast getting to the quarters or semis

Slovenia, New Zealand and then when they got knocked out Spain. I'm not excited by football or the World Cup right now though. Soul still crushed by what some are doing to the game.

since neither belgium or ireland will be there im in a bind. i dont like the english team players, they don't have a player like michael owen, who attributed to me crying when argentina knocked them out in 98. spain, i dont really care about them. hey lets say germany. i like the team and the country.

You do realise that there is a fierece rivalry between united and english fans with many united fans despising england?
yet i see st.georges and british flags(representing london for many) at games when they play away in champions league.
but still its a little different, irish people actively opt for the english league as the league from which to choose teams from.

True I've seen plenty of st georges when I've attended games but they are frowned upon by many.
Anyways if you want to read up on some of the anti-english feeling within United fans take a look at this: http://www.prideofmanchester.com/sport/mufc-songs-england.htm

Technically Mexico is in the Continent of North America. The Panama Canal is the division there.

wasnt that the point, a country other than brazil has won it outside their continent.

What about Michael Owen? He's very like Michael Owen.

Mexico - play in green, have always given good performances in previous tournaments, are long overdue a place in the quarters, and could very easily eliminate France. As for eventual winners, I'll go for Spain, they've always played stylish football and it would be good to have a new name on the trophy.

France and England.
France - Lived there for a bit and loved the place. They've also produced two of my favourite players of all time in Zidane and Henry, plus I always follow them in tournaments we're not at
That hasn't changed since they put us out

Will be cheering on Holland for my Dutch Uncle. My son bought a Holland jersey for his younger brother today for his christmas present.
Will sort of be cheering for France as it will be my home in a few years, I have a few french friends and have a France football tracksuit given to me by an ex French footballer. Pity that the man I have wanted to marry for many years may have not only led to us being knocked out of the comp but also may in the long run cost me my job. :-(

Surely not, given your many posts in defence of Ireland!

Is that not kind of like the inverted cross or inverted star of david and makes it a sign of the anti-Ireland?

Germany as lived there for a few years, apart from that I think I'd like to see Holland do well as they're generally pretty good to watch.
