i made a post on sligo rovers forum called is this a forum. it was set up as to the people in sligo rovers section telling anyone with a negative view of players they dont know what they are talking about. i left my comp and came back and thread had disappeared so i posted thread again. i then recieved a warning from sligoman for reposting a binned thread. as i said to sligoman i did not realise it had been binned as no one notified me.
he explained the situation and done so in a very professional manner and have no prob with that.
i then seen my thread had been retitled illerate egomania by someone. this was dahmsta. i mailed him to know why it was changed so he told me i was illerate and full of egomania. illerate means cant read or write so as you can see this is a false acquisation so i want to know why a moderator can publically insult its members and i get warnings for a legitimate mistake. maybe someone can clarify

It's a false acquisation, is it?

Oh, and he's not a mod. He's the site owner.

Sure. Understand that it's possible to exaggerate for effect, and that Dahamsta's never shown much patience for people who don't bother to use capital letters or punctuation, or for people who argue that some piece of reasonable moderation was unfair.

"Acquisation" does not exist as a word. "Acquisition" is one but does not relate to your context.

I imagine you meant "accusation".

Also, the word is "illiterate", not "illerate". Illiterate means: 1. unable to read or write; 2. showing a lack of education, e.g. by the use of poor grammar and spelling.

The second meaning can be applied to your post so it is an accurate description, not an insult.

Oh, and he's not a mod. He's the site owner. Not that that should have a bearing on it.

(I'm trying to be more belevolent and less dictator. Not sure I'm doing a very good job of it.)

On the technical front, we don't have to notify you when we delete a thread, and we certainly won't when it's completely off-topic. I already explained why I modified the thread title as I did, but for the benefit of the audience: it was egomanical because it was a off-topic rant that did nothing but feed your own ego. It was illiterate because your posts were bordering on incomprehensible, which just serves to enhance point 1.

Bad spelling and grammar makes posts hard to read, often causes flame wars because people don't understand what you're saying, and usually just makes you look lazy. Spelling and grammar aren't prerequisites on Foot.ie, but don't expect me to respect your input when you can't be arsed to make an effort.

@ superfrank i did not realise we all have to be top spellers to post here. you are a journalism student so you should be top notch at spelling, punctuation etc. someday you mite come do my job and see how ya fair out.
thread over, i dont mind getting a warning as moderators know how the site works far better than i do. i just feel calling me an illiterate igomania was a needless insult from a moderator/owner but its his site he can choose to write it and run it any way he wishes. im over the point now and just wanna get on with the real world. i wish all at foot.ie all the best but i made honest complaint to dahamsta and i felt as he dismissed me as sh1t ie. "now be quiet, i have work to do" my rant is well and truely over i will go my merry way quietly.

"now be quiet, i have work to do"You sent me 4 PMs in a half hour, plus there's the two off-topic threads that had to be reviewed, and this thread. I don't know what you do for a living but I have a business to run and Foot.ie to run in my spare time. So yes, I have work to do. Don't you?

It's "you're", a contraction of "you are".
