Is that the ex-Cardiff lad? Quality signing if so.

Ya the same guy (Willie Boland). (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Boland) Had to retire from full time cause of his knee. Fully fit now and well able to play a full game, just the training everyday of the week was killing him. Hartlepool where supposedly gutted he had to retire from full time. One or two more signings for Limerick and we should mount a decent challenge at the top.

Is there an official source yet for this worst kept secret?

Sligo Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of John Russell until the end of the 2010 Airtricity Premier Division season.

Russell, a free agent, will be available to Paul Cook for the clash with Bohemians on Saturday night in the Showgrounds.

The midfielder has been one of Galway United’s most consistent performers in recent seasons.

The 24-year-old has Republic of Ireland under-17 and under-19 honours.

It is likely he will not make his full debut until next week as the midfielder is still recovering from an ankle injury picked up in the off-season.

Presumably in that context it means he has played well consistently rather than he has played a lot of games

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_McGowan_%28footballer%29

Michael McGowan's re-signing by Dundalk has finally been approved by the FAI. It only took 8 days for the FAI to process the application. Thankfully they were able to devote their full attention to speeding this through at this busy time for registration requests!!!!!

Former Shamrock Rovers defender Mark Langtry was an unused sub for UCD on Friday night at Galway. Don't know much about him, where has he been in 2009?

He's been nowhere the last couple of years. He's been studying in UCD while playing futsal. I think he's been away from the 11-a-side game for the last two or three years.

Craig Walsh, he's still at Rovers, and will be playing with their under 19 and A teams. I think he made a brief appearance in the League cup or Leinster senior cup. He's very light weight for a centre midfield player and until he bulks up I can't see him being a regular in the senior team.

He's been returned from Ipswich for quite some time now.
Has been playing non-league in Wexford, for Wexford Bohs I think, don't quote me on that. But, I did read that he was a key part of the team that won Wexford's first ever Oscar Traynor this year, and seemingly scored in the quarters, semis and final of it.

That's 5 players gone from the squad and not replaced as of yet.

Our original squad was only 21 players anyway and considering we have, O'Hagan (short-term) and Ciaran Gallagher (long term) out injured this weekend, Minnock only returning from a lenghty lay-off plus Packie Mailey and Kevin McHugh suspended this weekend, it should be interesting against Shels.
