I read this in todays Longford News

'Alan has arranged a game against Portadown on monday next in an effort to get a game against similar opposition. Portadown are doing very well in the premier Division at present.

At the time of writing, Portadown are currently second in the table, five points behind leaders Linfield and they have many top class players in the squad.

vinny arkins, who has played at the highest level both here and in England,is their main goalscorer for many seasons but there has been some speculation lately that he was going to move back to the league.

There have being rumours linking him with a move to big spending Derry city, but that seemed to fall through, but there is no doubt that some of the big Dublin clubs seemed to be sniffing about when they heard he was available.

The town will have a close look at him in Mondays game and he should test the Town defence in the eagerly awaited game.'

good move from alan -i hear that this game is being played in Portadown. Anyone going to it? I wont be there-work commitments.
