ironic that is,n it,referring to people as cowardly and s.stirrers given it was you who brought up gary in the first place and are like us all living behind a user name .
What have I said about Gary?
Every man and his dog could point me out to you next time your in Jackman and if your going to make bold claims about people I suggest you do what Paul did. You might acually get someone who matters to believe you.
As it is, your a coward behind a keyboard.

I think you know me a little better than that Trev. My point is that I felt it quite ironic that people on here like bluehitearmy think it okay for any manager of this club to let go two of its best players, .
So its not ok for a manger to let players go? Funny thought that was what they did. But yes the board of the club forcing MK to sign 2 players he didnt want would have been great im sure nothing would have been said about that.As i said i would love Gar back but the fact is manager didnt want him he was gone to Wexfood by the time Mike was gone wheres the big story? Is this the 1st time a manager has let 2 good players go from a club:eek:

So its not ok for a manger to let players go?Simple answer: No it's not okay, especially when the players are of the calibre and quality of Sheehan and White.

And we were not happy that they were let go.
But there is a big difference between a manager letting go two players who had too much quality to be let go (though obviously not in the manager's opinion), and a club treating two players disgracefully.

Depends on how you categorise 'disgracefully'. I never said that the club treated the players disgracefully, but that it was disgraceful that they were let go in the first place. I said they were treated unfairly, which I believe they were as their ability and performances did not warrant their release.
But now that you mention it, it was pretty disgraceful...

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. As someone has already said, an offer has been made to him by Limerick FC. Its up to him what he does now.

Cork, Derry, Fingal, St. Pats, Galway they have all shown an interest. Limerick have offered him a contract for next season ,a very good one if what I heard is true, and as Jofspring said it's up to O'Flynn now who he goes to.

Chances of holding onto him looking slimmer now. According to a Derry fan in the rumours thread he is supposed to have met up with Kenny. Hopefully our offer will be better for Stevo. Money aside, outside of the premier i don't see much reason for him to go to anyone barr stick with ourselves.

Seriously? I doubt it. He spent more time on the treatment table last time he was here.

I'd say its the main reason. They are probably offering him more too. A Derry fan says they are struggling to agree terms but i'm sure that'll be easily sorted. If they hold onto most their players from last season (the word going around is they will) then his first team chances might be more limited than with Limerick.

Why go to another 1st Div team though? and given the mess Derry found themselves in this year im surprised he'd go back there.

Apparently NOT confirmed yet now. Strange move if only cos of the uncertainty if Kenny will even still be there.

To be fair his girlfriend is from derry and derry are gonna be still working off a pretty decent budget next year too so it really is a no brainer. with the squad they put together they will def be challenging for promotion. I know limerick offered him a chance of LOI football again but he has more chance with derry to get promoted. Limerick are a mid table 1st division team and maybe stephen saw evidence that this was not gonna change next year. best of luck to him and he done really well in his short spell back at the club.

Not sure where your getting your info from but on some of the other forums especially those related to Derry ,you'll see that they'll have none of this years squad for next season and whatever they bring in will take time to gel.Even the money they'll have wont be huge, certainly nothing like Sporting had this year or Shels for that matter.

Yes. I agree. What premier teams offered him a contract?
i do think the situation with his girlfriend had a lot to do with his decision which is understandable.

Well from what I understand 6 or 7 of the players from last year will be re-signed. Didnt one lad come back from a trial in scotland because he missed derry so much? Anyway its all speculation at the moment what Derry and ourselves are gonna do in respect to signing players.

Speculitive post. Do u have proof that Derry will be working off a decent budget? "with the squad they will be putting together" again highly assumtive. Fair point on saying limericks team of last season was pretty much mid table but can you go into the future as you seem to be doing on your generalisation of Derry and imagine what type of team limerick might have??? but then your wishing him good luck.....has he signed? i dont even know wheater to believe that Kenny has signed his contract as Dundalk are sniffing around him. Has your pal duggan been in touch witht the club?

I'd be shocked if we have a manager before february so he'd be mad to be waiting on us.

as usual TO1 you have incorrect information.
players are either amateur or professional id say john as he was signed from a club which is amateur (and didnt give him any money ) so players like boyle would get a standard basic and either an expence account or an appearance fee on top. i would be unable to give you figures though as i wouldnt be privvy to them. rem also that this is a semi pro league with the odd exception and most players are either in college or have jobs (in johns case hes an electrician) or in todays climate many are now unemployed. now whats your next piece of incorrect information you have for us??

If that is true what difference does that make? John Boyle was offered a contract last season which he accepted. Its not like he was forced to sign.

and adding to that i was speaking to john only recently and he said he was sorry he went back to junior ball as he felt he regressed and was glad to be given the oppertunity to play at a higher level. "if any guy is ever offered to play league of ireland he should take it, i was lucky to get a second chance."
