Sporting Fingal should continue where they left off against Shelbourne. Saw the FAI Cup semi-final between these two and Fingal had quality to spare that day. Shane McFaul was both tidying up and distributing the ball to the heralded forwards. Pretty handy win.

Irish Universities International John Mulroy, who scored Bray's second that day, is suspended for Morton Stadium, that isn't going to help Bray who will have to bring all of the European club competition experience to bear for these two games.

May the best team win. Controversal I know.

Hoping for a good game but I think Sporting will be out of sight by full time tonight. It's live on TG4 btw for those who don't know.

Cool, didn't know that.

Lashing rain here on the north-soi-ed of Dublin so I hope it still goes ahead!

As a Sligo fan, would you not prefer it to postponed?

I mean, a rescheduled game would delay and disrupt their cup final preparation.

Nope. I'm sure we'll beat Fingal regardless of the playoff game.

After that jinx-tastic remark, I'm running out to put €100 on Fingal to win the cup!

its been an encouraging start for the lads.
But the amount of water on the pitch is nuts I wouldnt be surprised if this was to get called off

Watching on TG4 - is there anyone at the game - has to be lowest attendance ever at any LOI game?

tippex

doesnt seem to be too many in the home stand I know there was a supporters club bus going up but reckon only about 200-300 bray fans made the trip

The Bray fans must be in the 'home' stand. They couldn't be out on the open terrace in this weather?

What a horrible game, should never have gone ahead in conditions like that, game plans go out the window, nothing but long balls will suffice, with the pitch like this, it makes it a toss of a coin, who has the better luck

Wonder is the ref under instructions from the FAI to play on regardless. No room or willingless to reschedule, what with the Cup final next week?

The Fungi would not be able to give out loads of free Tickets around the Fingal area, ergo,no fans at it.

with the pitch the way it is I can see someone getting broke up through an innocuous challenge

If Fingal can create a fanbase I've no problem with them, but while they are playing in the Morton Stadium I don't see what good they are, they seem to be a classic LOI team that pay too heavily on players instead of facilities, infrastructure etc..

Bray playing well enough btw

It's nothing to do with the teams, the Cup semi final was good, it's the rain that's making this unwatchable and I personally hate the Morton Stadium anyway.

Bray are looking good. Ive had games called off with less surface water than there is out there

With a bit of luck we wont do what we done on tuesday and go asleep for the second half

Agree, it is a soulless s*"t hole.I wonder when the builder( funding) and Fingal C C (Supply Stewards) are going to get tired with this little expreiment

I never thought i'd see the day when the local firemen are on the pitch at half-time. Why I don't know?

Karl Phillips
13/11/2009, 7:43 PM
Fuming here, to think that there could be a serious emergency, and they are clearing the water off a pitch. Now the people from the Fingal area can see where there bin/water/taxes are going.

If memory serves me right then there were firemen at the semi also.
Is this a regular occurrance at morton?

Flicking between this and the rugby on RTE. Can't stand watching more than 5 or 10 minutes of it in one go. Bray look much better than in the cup semi and should have scored at least once by now.

I cant believe this game is going ahead! Just because they have a tv slot no doubt ..... **** sake they couldve put on the Western instead twudve been better. I think the weather suits Bray cos Fingal would have hammered them if they could play football tonight.
