Hi,

Just an FYI to anyone planning on going via boat from the UK, the shipping has been disrupted in the Irish Sea today due to the fierce winds and high seas:

If you are planning on using the boat tomorrow please check ahead (although I'm not sure what you can do about it should they cancel the ferries). The situation could be different tomorrow.

If they're booked on the Swift with Irish Ferries tell them to change it now for the slow ferry (if it fits with their schedule), I used to work for them and the fast ferry is off far too often for comfort, I'm not sure which slow ferry is on at the moment but if it's the Ulysses I think it only ever missed a sailing once.

It all depends on the winds fading out on the next 24 hours or so. I could be getting the morning train from London to Holyhead and then the boat - if all goes to plan I'll be in central Dublin at 17:45, the whole trip (boat + train) is £29, but I'm running a risk of missing the game.

I have a row boat down on the lake paul, if their ferry is cancelled I shall get the outboard and ferry them over on the SS Titanic, with a name like that my boat is unsinkable.

All Swift Irish Ferries (the fast high speed ones) were cancelled yesterday (14th) and will be cancelled today too (15th) if you are booked on a ferry to Holyhead take the one at 8.05 not 8.45 as the 8.05 will sail and the 8.45 wont.
