Jaysus, Sadlier must be getting some amount of money for all these TV appearances. Watch out Pats fans, he no longer has to hold back!

Dillonman

No club is ever going to "balance their books" richie. Accounts are tidied up non stop in every company. Profits are artificial as well as losses. There should be a greater emphasis on petty cash at the moment to try and make ends meet.

An miriam actually mentioned supporting foreign clubs although it would have been 10 times better if she had've used the word barstooler :)

The biggest club in the world only eighty miles away! I thought it was only 65 miles to Dublin from Athlone!

Dont see why they couldnt have played a little more to the positives though, how lots of clubs are doing things right and have their heads screwed on. Am a little more than fuming to be honest.

He was talking about us but forgot that we had the new bypass which brings it down to 78 miles.

Who wants to hear about Monaghan balancing the books when there's Scroogerry City, content to line their miserly pockets with players and fans starving in the snow, before JD and the FAI-RIES belt out a moving rendition of 'Happy Xmas (Contract Fraud Is Over)'?

But this was Fran Gavin of the FAI he couldn't possibly have gotten it wrong! (Is there a GAA club 2 miles down the road from ye?)

Aw dont mind me just feeling irked that the league is being shown as a "shambles" when there are just a few problems in the league. Granted they may be major ones but they are few.

I noticed that Fran seemed to be putting pressure on Coughlan to get out at this stage. Is this a slight hint that if he doesn't go the Cork licence will go to Forfas?

blackholesun

Coughlan was let off far too easily. The "it took Rovers 20 years" line was silly. The 400c were not facing winding up orders months after taking over and dragging the name of the league thru the mud as he has had. No way this spoofer should be given a license.

Miriam O'Callaghan just said on RTE 1 there that they will be talking about the goings on the in the league of ireland next tusday night. I'm sure more negitive publicity for the league anway.

wrong programme its on.
it should be on crime watch with all the shannigans that went on this season alone with the likes of cork derry and drogheda making a holy show of the league.

Fran went all out after Tom Coughlan and sanitised FORAS, which seemed remarkably biased for someone who is looking out for the good of the league. Nothing on Bohs and their struggles, or any real depth into the situation. Miriam tried her best to bring "over there" into it but neither man bit (except for the mention of Dundalk "biggest club in the world"), which did nothing to show a bit of bottle for the domestic structures. Loved the voxpops at Croker, the glory glory brigade are hilarious - better to have asked them about the sky leagues!

I have to take issue here, all involved in FORAS are very hygienic individuals.
I bathe at least one a week, sometimes twice.
He did sanctify FORAS though, which was nice.

There's only one problem in the league: It's f***ed! :D

My favourite line in the whole thing was when Tom Coughlan said that no Chairman in the world is liked by the fans, it made me laugh

Actually it made me shout curse words at the tv that my son rarely hears me use. Our Chairman is liked by most fans. They may have doubted some of his decisions in the past like not pumping more money into our team but with the way the league has turned he has been vidicated and they respect him more for not caving to pressure.

Just watched it now. Coughlan is an awful eejit.

Otherwise, it was relatively fair, and un-hysterical.

:p I meant to say that it was a little dangerous to be getting plaudits or pushing from the FAI. It means they're right behind you, in other words, it's easier to get stabbed int he back that way!
