'O'Shea, he promised me hell at Croke Park,' the defender told L'Equipe.

Good man oshea, we were saying on Sunday oshea should hvae ran across the pitch and hacked down evra :D

On a side note, i often wonder are these players interviewed in their adopted tongue with some of the things they come out with, for example: 'It'll be a crazy game. They (the Irish) are crazy about football and I expect them to run all over the pitch to give everything and in the away game as well.'

the original interview with Evra is here: http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2009/20091109_203709_evra-l-enfer-a-croke-park.html
"Enfer" is French for "Hell" if I remember my Leaving Cert French. and not focus on how much I hated it, and the teacher.

Enfer? Don't they sponsor the Tipp hurling team?

As a Man U fan I'd have been happier if he did a Johnny Evans on Anelka!

Ya, he did it on drogba though. If evra and anelka had somehow got mangled and injured eachother would have been great.

Remember Country before club. Especially a foreign one. ;)

A "Johnny Evans" , I thought those charges were dropped ! He is a nasty piece of work though.

Charges have been dropped, sure, but it was still a nasty dig. I heard one commentator say that he took 'stamping racism out of football a step too far'

What did Evans do?

Kung Fu esque kick in to Drogbas chest whilst heading the ball clear. Should have been a Red, instead Drogba got a Yellow I think for feigning injury.........

Drogba did go a little over the top with the reaction though. The way he was twitching on the ground it looked like he'd been electrocuted. Definitely a red card for Evans but tbh I don't feel any sympathy for Drogba.

Me neither, just stating what I saw on the TV.

back on topic, is it even possible for o'shea to catch evra to give him the hell that's meant to be forthcoming? has o'shea ever brutally tackled anyone in his life?? i like him as a player but he's never been THAT kind of iron-willed, no-nonsense defender.

What did Evans do?

I can't go in to it, as charges were dropped so I guess he is assumed innocent and I'm not talking about the Drogba kick which was just a display ot the mentality behind the "man". I'm sure he will have a "colourful" career.

Hell? Bit unfair on the northside that.

I'm sorry but these threads about players coming out and spouting ******** really annoy me. the atmosphere may well be good on saturday, but it won't be hell. it won't be an intimidating, turkish style atmosphere. there'll be no objects thrown on to the pitch or anything like that. so, i think Evra et al will be more than used to playing in front of 70,000 people singing.

also, why come out and say it? it's just preparing the french team for a hostile atmosphere. when all they see is 70,000 people in green cheering on their team, will the effect not be a bit anti-climatic???

all the player's are giving it a bit too much chat for my liking....just leads to a fall.
