Shorty? Bit of a surprise.

No complaints about our others though.

No great arguments with the Prem side. Not 100% about sullivan or deego (the latter on disiplinary grounds). Jason Byrne would be a contender up front but Cretaro and Twigg have done very well with "small" clubs :D:D so Jayo has to settle for the bench.

Twigg for POTY with Powell for YPOTY.

Not one player from Galway :( We'd have the YPOTY in the bag if we still had Jay.

James Chambers is the only player from our team that would've gotten anywhere near team of the season.

Think the first division nominees are definitely accurate, nobody else compared to those 3.

There are lots of players from different clubs that different people would consider deserve a shout. Limerick fans might think their players deserve a look in, Monaghan fans, Shelbourne fans, UCD fans, Waterford fans etc.... Everyone thinks particular players performed better than others but that is the team picked and in all honesty i think it is a pretty decent team.

Agree but he went from Under 18's & 20's to 1st team to Premiership in one season and was mostly brilliant. Also played Under 17's and U18's Republic of Ireland football and is on standby for the U19's at the age of 17. Won man of the match against St Pats in a cup game too. Just think he should have been given a nod.

Ciaran Gallagher went from playing under 16 schoolboy football, to our under 20's and then first team. He was capped at under 17 and under 18 level as well as a current under 19 international all within the year. He has been on trial a few times this season in England and is weighting up his options.
Played a hell of alot more games in LOI than McCarey too.

Also Ger Hanley of Galway is Under 19 international too, both lads ahead of McCarey in international pecking order.

I am surprised that Coneelley (sp?) of Galway wasn't mentioned in YPOY, looked a smashing player anytime I seen him this season.

Cretaro for POTY
Finn for YPOY
Byrne for 1st Div POTY

He should be up for it too then! As for Gallagher being ahead of him not so sure about that. I think they are on an even footing from what I have heard and now with Aaron getting coaching at Wolves he will be potentially stepping it up a bit.
