End of the day its 90 minutes of football, anything can happen.
How many times have you seen shocks in football, teams which were dead at half time losing and came back. Look at the champ league finals for instance United v Bayern, Liverpool v Milan. Anything could happen.

If everyone forgets about being negative and remembers that we came 2nd to the world champions and were unbeaten in qualification we have a chance. France can only be as good as us if they also finished second in thier group otherwise they would already be at the world cup!

We haven't beaten a top european team away in a competitive match years...........well isnt it about time we did?

Scram are you going over you bandwagoner?

Over to the "positive" side or over to Paris?

No, to either! But I really haven't given up hope and I need to go outside now to roar "C'MON IRELAND"

It really is a case of "please, please, please let it happen" I so want to got to South Africa...and watch Andy Reid in action!

After the first leg, a victory over the French would rank just above Jesus turning water into wine.

I don't think we realise how big this opportunity is. We have some ageing players. Ageing players for whom there is no replacement.

Keane
Duff
Finnan
Dunne

3 or 4 of our most vital players will almost certainly not be playing at the same level in 4 years time as they are now. There seems to be no-one on the horizon who is of the same quality. The likes of St. Ledger, Best, McGeady, whilst good, are never going to be as influential as these players.

If we fail to qualify for this World Cup, I genuinely believe it will be a long time before we see Ireland at another World Cup finals.
