The Derry lads were pretty confident he was going there for next season.
Must be going there so.
I doubt he'll want to play in the first division.

First Division? Doubt it .......Derry will run to Irish league with cap in hand.

I hope Boco doesn't go. He is our best player. I fear Raf is going to go. Are Motherwell as good as Rovers? I doubt it but they pay better. I could understand Raf going for the cash. He had a tremendous season.

I hope to hell I am wrong but despite the great end to the season and our brillliant cup run, I fear we could see the breakup of this team. Raf, Boco, Morrison, Peers and dare I say Cook himself could leave.
I hope this doesn't happen as I think we could see a huge difference in the league next season, with Derry gone and with the well documented problems at Cork and Bohs I think a club that can keep its house in order could realistically look at being in the top two.
Bohs to operate on a reduced budget next year and Cork will definately have to shed some of their top earners to survive could see us really becoming a consistent force.
For what its worth I think shams will win the league next season but would like to think that our current squad, with a couple of additions, could push on.

i have to say i agree with redkenrover, i think if cook wins the fai cup he will get a move back across the water. i think raf is as good as gone. when is the last time you seen him kiss the crest on jersey ??? he done it most times he scored and has not done it once since speculation from motherwell and shams back few months ago. peers and boco certainly can make it at a higher level and morrison is away with the birds so who knows with him really. hope im wrong though

i sincerly hope your right i know he made a few mistakes this year but he is learning his trade and overall he has been our best manager prob since cotterill. i have to admit after derry thrashing in the league i really questioned was he good enough but he answered and has proven himself to be the real deal

I remembered seeing this particular post, so maybe Cook will stay on for the forseeable future and hopefully a Cup win will influence himself and some key players to stay for atleast another season. 100k prize fund could go a long in a replacement for Cretaro, I hope the club are keeping some players in mind if he does go which is looking likely. Would Raf be under contract or out of contract if he goes ?

if we win the cup the club will have to have made a profit this year so we will be expecting a top striker to replace raf. i actually see doyle as a good replacement upfront. imo he is a striker not a winger and he played as a striker at shams. a lot of his goals were real poachers efforts , last nites and bohs goal. i hope the club will build on this year ang give cook some money to spend we seen after july transfer window he can sign some good players so lets show faith in him and try and build the club. the better we do the better money comes in through sponcership and attendances

Last night after the game ended the team all went in and then reappeared a few minutes later, that was a lovely few minutes. As far as I could see Cooke did not come out to receive the applause, he left the glory to the team, typical of him. If he had made his mind up that he was going at the end of the season, then I think he would have come out to give the fans a wave but then maybe I am getting ahead of myself. What a great night it was for the BOR and the fans, great crowd on a miserable night.
Got my cup final ticket yesterday, was going to lodge it in the bank for safe keeping and then I thought, no way with their record so I have it under the mattress for safe keeping. Dont think Fingal with get promotion.

I couldn't agree more. If we held on to them we could win the league. Also, we could progress in Europe learning from the bitter experience of Vllaznia. However, history suggests that the team could break up. For example the great team of Annand and Hastie broke up. Hopefully, the club can get cracking on new contracts.

He's out of contract. Somebody told me there are 2 players under contract for next season, i tohught there was only one. Blinkhorn was one, can't think of the other one.

I tought everyone who signed over the summer was only under contract until the end of the season ?
I remember when Pats were after Cretaro one of the local newspapers announced he was staying and had signed a new 2 year contract, and that was only in January/February aswell. Cretaro is the most likely to go, so really the club should offer contracts to our key players like Peers,Ventre,Boco,Brush,Doyle,Keane and Kendrick to start with, I can see the majority staying, aswell as having Cook stay on board for another season. With so many players out of contract, the club should be on the look out for strikers in the meantime incase Raff goes, it would be a miracle if we hold on to him but I wont be complaining :).
