Hi all,
Just an idea, maybe it would help, in these recessionary times, if someone sent an email to a number of hotels around Dublin city centre looking for the best deals they have available for the Saturday and Sunday nights of the cup final and then we could post them here so people could get the best deal and choice?
maybe they have to quote a code to avail of the offer? what do ye think? i have no problem doing it if there is interest, i live in Dublin but would be good for families/people planning on making a weekend of it and hopefully encourage as many to travel as possible.

The Maldron (30 yards approx from the ground) are doing a Cup final special on the Sunday night for €139 per room.
Or €79 through the shams football special for the same night, Big difference !
A bit cheeky there
Or its only €99 for sunday and monday through the Winter early bird offer.
http://www.avvio.com/hotels/Maldron_Hotel_Tallaght/bookings/client.php#ipulsestart
Its €69 per room for Saturday night
One of their selling points for both football specials is 'Residents bar serves till 3.00am - nice

Have people decided if they're staying over or not the Sunday night? The team are so mighn't be much craic back in Sligo if the cup's* not there;) Out in Dublin the Sunday night* and back to Sligo Monday and hit Toffs then Monday night*
*Assuming we didn't lose the final:).

What friends of mine did when organisng an event in Tallaght was contact all the hotels on the Naas Road/Clondalkin and tell them that if the hotel organised for a bus to pick them upo at hotel, bring them to event, and then back again, thye could guarantee 30 people staying in their hotel.
They stayed in Louis Fitzpatrick Hotel and ot worked out about €40 a head for hotel (including bus)
Worth investigating

I think the Romanians left the tents behind them when they were shifted off the roundabout on the M50
