Starting a seperate thread to see if anyone can concur that Waterford fans arrive into railway end of main stand and began to throw flares or fireworks towards the pitch, narrowly avoiding children sitting in the front rows.Apparently many of the kids got upset by this and had to leave the seats they arrived early to secure.
I cannot understand why the Away team supporters we not segretated to the BLUE stand as usual. I know there were issues going on there before KO and at HT announcements were being made for ROVERS fans to leave that end of stand as it was CONGESTED! I wasn't in a position to see.
I worry about Health and Safety!
Another one, why were there no ball boys/girls at game tonight. Cookie having to run length o pitch to retrieve ball was a bit mad.
Still delighted that

Yes the Albanians were there but that was their section. Tonight it was not segregated. Apparently some Waterford supporters were being sent round in circles trying to finf their section. The kids I am talking about were never told not to sit there.

I might be called a **** for this but, its the clubs fault this happened. That was the section for the Waterford fans. There should have been stewards stopping Rovers fans from sitting there, then when the club and stewards realised they had completley messed up they seemed to go ott on the waterford fans. There'd be outroar if we went to Waterford and had to stand in the middle of a bunch of Waterford fans while standing on a stair case.
Anyways, who cares, roll on tallaghtfornia :)

I assumed they were put there because they were few in number. The old stand away section was full with home support.
I thought it was a pity our own supporters invaded the pitch, meant the players didnt get a proper chance to thank the fans. And of course we will be fined.
But really who cares, we are in the final and look safe from the play-offs. Cant complain.

There was an issue with the Waterford fans alright as regards coming in to main stand. The stewards failed to deal with it at all.But were quick to deal with the Kids running on to the pitch after the game.Have to say that overall I dont think it was a major issue as the banter was fairly good natured but there wasw one waterford guy(Red Haired Fella) that was abit overly aggressive.Tried to put up a banner which would have blocked the veiw of people round him.I think he was the one who let of the flare which was dealt with quick enough. From Health and safety point of veiw what happened last night if was another club could have end with some hassle or even if the result didnt go our way mood might have been different.Because of the crowd that was there last night there was a few issue from H&S point of veiw that needs to be dealt with if there is a game of this nature again(Playoffs).Placement of stewards before the game and at halftime etc.At half time the crush to get to the toilets was dangerous considering the amount of kids that were at it.This whole incident could have been avoided with proper planning. The stewards are volenteers but i think Rovers have a security firm in who failed to deal with situation in any manner."Are these not meant to be professional".I now fear the club will now get fined for this incident and not as much the pitch invasion by Kids! Who will pay the the fine? The security firm? (There responsibility).I hope the club have learned from this.
Lucky enough this incident was fairly good natured but could have turned nasty. To fair to the Waterford fans after the initial few minutes things settle down and atmosphere was good natured and it got the crowd singing in that stand.

I wouldn't worry about a pitch invasion, it was just out of pure excitement for making it to the final for the first time since '94, I did it myself for the hell of it :o Wasn't only kids either though, seen a man of about 70+ years of age hopping over the wall :D so lets not worry about it, this year we've done well financially and as someone said, lasts night's profit should cover any fine.

and that wall is not easy to hop over either
:o
was nearly expecting a repeat of the europa league stewarding and being told to stand away from the wall when a couple of fathers around me were told not allow their kids to sit on the wall, dispite being held securely by said dads
just wondering how the tallaght stadium stewards will cope with us lot after last night, some thing like a 6,000 capacity, are they going to have any temporally seating or standing

In fairness lads i saw Mary McGowan running onto the pitch herself, not a very good example. Apparently the stewards were waiting for Plan B to be announced like at Croke Park but im disappointed in Mary.
