I have two mates who are block bookers that will be applying for tickets for the game in Paris. In the event both get the tickets would it have any negative effect on future applications if one didn't take up the offer?

nope. if you apply, you have to take them. they take payment from your card if you are successful

anyway, there'll be no difficulty getting rid of a couple of spares!

Or you could just sort someone else out as I'm sure there'll be alot of people looking for tickets!

How hard will it be to get tickets for this game? Im not a block booker or anything... Just a normal guy off the street :)

Hopefully some sort of preference will be given to people who've been on other trips this campaign!

I would imagine the 1,000 or so that have been to all 6 games so far will be looked after ok.

Tickets should be on sale from the French equivalent of ticketmaster tomorrow, can be accessed through www.fff.fr

I'm fairly hopeful of getting tickets through the fai, but will still be buying a few for the french section just in case. Shouldn't be too hard to sell on to Irish fans if I get tickets for the Irish end, hopefully.l

Considering we only had 5 away games in this campaign going to 6 would be quite an achievement.

Although I reckon also any block bookers who bought tickets from the FAI for most or all of the away games will be OK.

When will the tickets for the home game be going on general sale?

Heard on the news earlier that they mightn't be going on general sale. Depends on the number of Montengro ticketmaster applications they receive. Tomorrows the closing date for these.

One of the lads who's not on the FAI's system (normally gets ticket through my allocation) got the following response to his application for away leg tickets (made everyone I know apply for this one):

"For ticketing information for the home/away legs of the Play-Off on November 14th & 18th versus France please keep an eye on www.fai.ie for updated information

Regards,

Ticket Office"

Anyone else receive this response or any other response yet? Hoping that because I didn't get the same it means my application is going to be ok.

Lads I got this direct from the FAI in response to customer queries at The FAI shop @ Carroll's

Tickets for the home leg of the play-offs against France on November 14 are currently being distributed by the FAI to block bookers and depending on take up, may or may not go on public sale. An update on whether tickets will go on public sale will be provided on Monday, October26.

Non-block bookers who attended the recent match against Montenegro can apply for tickets to the home leg of the World Cup play-off by sending the FAI their Montenegro ticket stubs, to be received at FAI headquarters, no later than Wednesday, October 21. Please note that block bookers are guaranteed their usual allocation of tickets for the home leg of the World Cup play-off and do not need to send their ticket stubs to the FAI.

The away leg of the World Cup play off will take place in the Stade de France on November 18. Applications for tickets should be sent to ticket.office@fai.ie stating your name, address and the number of tickets required.

INFO : The French supporters' tickets for France V. Ireland are going on sale TOMORROW at 12 noon but only in Carrefour and Fnac stores throughout France. The date that these tickets will be available on the 'net has not been announced yet.

I imagine that this is to ensure that the stadium isn't 100% green like last time. - source TF1 news in France

Sly the frogs doing that, but completely understandable, can we still buy off FNAC then im assuming not, as previouslly advised?!

the website isnt working correctly, it makes you select at least 1 quantity at 82 euro!!!

The FAI site seems to be forcing me to select the €82 tickets.
Is this the same with other people?

I just gave them a call and the girl said that they should be on sale tomorrow but not buy-able/reservable from their site. So if you already happen to be physically in France then no problem. Otherwise we wait and see I guess.

To be honest I'm surprised that the other ticket sellers (francebillet/ticketnet) who don't have any physical stores have gone ahead with this.

The fact that up until 9am this morning they were being advertised as being on sale today at 10am on all the sites and that story has now been confirmed as a bug (http://www.leparisien.fr/sports/billets-pour-france-irlande-bug-sur-le-site-du-stade-de-france-21-10-2009-682858.php) it seems that no one over here knows exactly what's going on.

If anyone can read French though you can see a LOT of angry fans who are ****ed that the tickets aren't available as advertised.

Any idea on the proper way to apply for tickets from abroad? The application only has space for town, county etc, nothing about another country. Don't want to fill the form out wrong!

Put your town and county on the same line?
I may be giving the FAI too much credit here, but they should be able to figure it out.

I just did the same and it seemed to work without any problems. There are at least 2 of us in the €42 seats now (I presume the €2 is the usual FAI handling charge).

Stadium seating plan here:

http://www.eventtravel.com/cms/display_seatingplan.aspx?seatingplan_objid=367

Looks like the following:

€22 Behind the goals, Upper Tier towards the back
€42 Behind the goals, Lower Tier and front Upper Tier
€62 Stands
€82 Halfway line

paul_oshea

i reckon that value is ignored....

i think the 42 euro tickets are probably the best ones!

Real ale Madrid
21/10/2009, 11:50 AM
Surely the price is irrelevent as they are not going to house Irish supporters in different sections of the ground? You'll have to take what you are given if you are successful.

paul_oshea
21/10/2009, 11:50 AM
redone it again, i hope they ignore my first request!!!

i reckon they are doing validation only on the first 3 fields and therefore it doesn't realise that the 4th value has been entered, either that or they aren't sending the populated 4th field across and no one is going to be in the upper/back tier till they get this sorted!!!

I reckon we will get a corner of the ground and a section of a main stand.
