Benzema

Before representing France, Benzema was eligible for Algeria and was called up to the squad by the Fédération Algérienne de Football in December 2006,[57] but turned them down stating, "Algeria is my parents’ country and it is in my heart, but football-wise I will only play for the French national team."[

They are all a crowd of mercenaries as far as i can see. Reckon we have a great chance against them and that France in years to come will no longer be a world power. Agree re: Henry though, he does seem to actually care.

Algeria is to France what Ireland is to England, footballwise. Algeria is in Benzema's heart and France in his bank account.

Good news for us Ribery is out injured for a month which most likely rules him out of our playoff

"If they(the french people) remember our last confrontation at the stage of France in October, 2004, there was the presence of 30.000 Irish in the stadium. Already if we could avoid that, it would be a first win. I make an appeal to those who support the Team of France to rally quickly and credit of bleachers in blue, white, red. It will be necessary to be competitive on both matches until last second. "

To which I can only recall SkStu's salient point:

The main thing is not to give up no matter what happens in the first leg.

How about the ultimate glory scenario......we lose 0-1 at home, then throw the kitchen sink at them in Paris, win 2-1 and go through on away goals. It wouldn't be pretty, but I could see them panicking if we need a goal at the end to win it and are chucking everything up to Folan, Richard Dunne, etc.

(bump) :D

Are you saying we play richard dunne as a striker?

No. I wrote that when the draw was made. What I meant was that if it was 1-1 in Paris with ten minutes left, we'd still be in with a shot. It wouldn't be pretty, but we'd have to send Dunne up as an extra striker, maybe even Given for corners.

I got the first part right (unfortunately).

Astronomical odds in reality. That's very specific. They might quote you 1000/1 if you ask.
