just wondering does anyone think the commentary should change on the show? i hate highlights shows that have commentary which report the game like it already happened(eurogoals does this as well)

they should commentate like match of the day?

Just a matter of opinion, but I prefer it when the commentary is done as a live game, I think it makes the programme more exciting. It really irks me on MNS when a team are lining up a free kick, and the voice over says "Rovers were soon level though...", takes all the tenion out of it!

I still think MNS is a great programme though, and I'm delighted I can watch it in Scotland!

Much prefer it done as already happened, especially on highlights that are lasting less than a minute or two. Sure, for extended highlights use the live commentary, but makes little sense to pretend that three days haven't passed and nobody knows the score. A Friday night highlights show would be a different matter altogether and people could happily walk around - don't tell me the result, I want it to be a surprise when I see it on tv the night.

On 'live' commentaries on highlights shows, it would irk me more that the same person did the 'live' commentary on two games that took place at the same time than anything else. Think I remember this happening on a show rte did on a Saturday, used to bug me no end. Do they still do it?

I'd rather it the way it is. Doing 'live' commentary of highlights of a game that has'nt been shown live on TV just sounds wrong. Sky do it sometimes for their Sunday morning highlights of L1/L2 and it sounds awful.

Only when it suits them.

To be fair Sligoman asking Con if he wears y-fronts or boxers is hardly a valid question though?

Just have to ask, do you work for MNS or RTE...?
