Congratulations to Salthill, tonight's result confirms them as Group 1 champions, and if Kildare lose next week, it will definitely be a Kildare v Salthill play-off.

Won't there be a play-off between Salthill Devon and Tralee Dynamos first if the latter can finish in the top 3 (i.e. if they beat Bray Wanderers A on the final day)?

Salthill Devon will definitely play in the championship play-offs against either Shamrock Rovers A or Bohemians A on 2 November though.

Not totally sure, but as Salthill are definitely the highest placed A team, I don't think finishing in the top three would actually change anything. Bray seem to be Dynamos bogey team this year, so winning away seems a tall order at any rate.

Tralee Dynamos were only told 2 weeks ago that if they dont finish level or above Salthill then they won't make the play offs. All along the club were told that they need to finsih in the top 3 regardless where Salthill finish. Nobody understands why this rule has changed but Dynamos only have themselves to blame for not winning the group. Tralee Dynamos are now playing for 16 months straight having started back in July 2008. The club should of pulled the players from its domistic Kerry season at Christmas and given them a break until the A Championship started. Instead all the players played both leagues until the Kerry league finished. At one staged they were playing 2 games at the weekend. At the end it cost themselves big time as they had a load of players injured in the final part of the season but maybe they will learn from the mistakes they made. All in all it was a geat season for the Tralee team and I enjoyed watching the games. They have won a lot of news suporters around Kerry and with a few new players they will surely make the play offs next year no problem.

They've proven they have the quality to make the play-offs next year when they'll have no distractions early on, but the big test will come when they enter the u-20 league, with the small squad there's the danger of getting caught between the two competitions.

They will be using the Kingdom Boys under 16/17 players next year for sure. I was told by a player that they trained together last week and he said these young players were very good. He also said that 5 or 6 will make the senior squad next year for sure. All in all it was a great season for them and Kerry soccer and I for 1 will be looking forward to what happens next year.
