On the 7th of May 1989, Derry City FC completed the historic ‘treble’, winning the 1988/89 League Championship, the League Cup and the FAI Cup.

Twenty years on there have been several commemorative events held both off and on the pitch and details have now been confirmed for one of the highlights of this anniversary in an event organised by Northland Broadcast and the Nerve Centre.

The Undertones will headline a ‘Treble 1989 Celebration’ gig at Derry’s Nerve Centre on Saturday 14th November, their first Derry gig in almost two years. As well as music from one of the greatest live bands around, video footage of that incredible 1988/ 89 season will be continually displayed throughout the Nerve Centre on various screens. Members of the treble-winning squad will also be in attendance.

Confirming details of the gig, Michael Bradley of The Undertones said:
‘It's great to be able to celebrate the treble at last. Derry City has featured many times in the life of The Undertones - from the picture sleeve of Get Over You, to the cover of My Perfect Cousin, to the singing of Teenage Kicks at the Brandywell. For someone like me, who remembers Danny Hale and who sold programmes at the Texaco Cup game against Wolves, it's great to be associated with the club. We’re really looking forward to the night on the 14th November’

Tickets are £12 (plus booking fee)
