Blinks & Raf potentially the best Strikeforce in LOI

Since Blinkhorns arrival I think we have been a different team . He gives so many different options and maybe our football isnt as 'champagne':) as it was before, but its a lot more effective as were able to mix the play. Before we were trying to walk the ball into the net, usually breaking down on the edge of the 18 yard box, now we can knock it long for Raf to feed off Blinks flick ons or into his feet to hold up. His work rate is unreal, but hes also a quality footballer and playing the role he does he has to make sacrafices for the team. Raf must be loving it, id say hes had more chances in the last few games than he had all last season. Playing on the shoulder of the last defender really suits him. Hopefully he stays around for next season and isnt tempted to go further afield, cant see Twigg putting in a shift for our Raf to have a free role !
Nice to see the crowd giving Raf a standing ovation when he came off the other night, cant see the boys in the Burberry caps doing that if he doesnt score in a couple of games
Anyways I cant remember a srikeforce at the Showgrounds with as much potential as these two and if they could keep them together for next season they could do serious damage.
Suppose a lot depends on how the rest of this season goes

If Raf isn't tempted to join Shams then yes. I can't help but feel he'd be much happier at home, with a crowd who absolutly adore him, but if he were to move to Shams i'd say he'll still get a great reception for all hes given us. Out of all the players we've signed over the summer, Matty is the pick of the bunch, he holds to ball up well and is like a breathe of fresh air for Raf since he joined. The lads are a potential attacking force, but I stil want to see Raf setting up Blinkhorn for goals too, Raf can twist and turn defences's we've seen so many times. Hopefully good times are ahead provided both of them make the right decision to stay (if we stay up) :)

no doubt blinkhorn is quality but imo raf still finding his bearings with the partnership. blinkhorn wins a lot of headers and flick ons but raf seems to always be in the wrong place to pick them up. as for holding up the ball and playing people in blink is excellent. i just think him and raf as a partnership is not fully formed yet and a lot more to come if raf stays (i dont think he will. if he is offered big money with shams in the current climate he wud be a fool to turn them down). raf needs get on the end of more of blinkhorns headers and he will score more. hopefully raf will realise with a few more signings next year we could easily push for top 4 spot again but with shams he will be playing for medals and big wages plus a good stadium. if we could keep brush, boco, peers,keane,raf and blinkhorn for next season i would be happy. as for strikeforces i would rather have ours than bohs..... crowe and byrne are brutal. the young lad madden is better than the 2 of them together

I agree with SRFC1928, they have really good movement from the two and both fighters with quality ability. I think they will improve as well, as they continue to get to know each other and has the making of the best strike partnership i can remember in the showgrounds. To be fair to i thought Cash and Doyle have both done very well in the last few weeks and there seems to be balls coming into the box now as well.
